Sydney FC winger David Carney has pleaded with the club not to lose its ‘bling’ by allowing star player Dwight Yorke and coach Pierre Littbarski leave the newly-crowned Australian champions
It is unclear if the high-profile duo will stay down under especially as the club could save a considerable sum in wages if they depart but Carney, who has impressed this season and made his debut for the national team last month in the 3-1 win in Bahrain, hopes Yorke and Littbarski stay.
"They are the ones who put the bling into Sydney -- and if they go we might not be the bling club any more. I really hope they stay. Pierre's a great coach and Dwight's still sheer quality." The former Everton player told the Sydney’s Daily Telegraph.
The player also stated that he could be about to join a leading English championship side on loan in order to keep sharp for Germany 2006.
