Whitecaps Sign Noriega

Whitecaps sign Anthony Noreiga.
soccer365.com.

Vancouver Whitecaps Director of Soccer Operations, Bob Lenarduzzi, announced today that the Whitecaps have signed free agents Anthony Noreiga, pending international clearance, and John Jones through the 2007 season. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Noreiga, 24, was a three-year starter at George Mason scoring four goals and assisting on two in 52 games for the Patriots. In his senior campaign he was named the 2005 Colonial Athletic Association Defender of the Year and was named to the All-South Atlantic first team after the Patriots defence recorded a record five shutouts.  Last January, the 6’4”, 175-pound centre back was drafted fourth overall by the Kansas City Wizards in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplementary Draft. Noreiga, a native of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, has been a member of the Trinidad & Tobago National Team at the U-17, U20, U-23 and full international levels.
Jones, 32, enters his first season with the Caps having last played in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) in 2003 with the Des Moines Menace of the Premier Development League (PDL). As a Menace, the native of Folsom, California played 10 games scoring six goals and assisting on one in 731 minutes of play. Prior to Des Moines, Jones played four years in the USL First Division (then A-League) with the Charleston Battery, 1998 and 2002, and Pittsburgh Riverhounds, 2000 and 2001. In 1997 and 1999, the 6’0”, 170-pound defender/midfielder was a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy of the MLS.

Actually, Bailey is injured right now. Injuries has plagued him since he joined the Impact a few seasons ago. Once fit, he go mash up things again

Samo, greetings!!! Bailey and McKnight not fighting up to make no A-League team. Bailey is about to become a franchise player at Blast and is loved dearly by the Montreal Impacts administration. Mcknight is on the verse of signing with Charleston Battery after an impressing performance during his trial. Last season, Bailey was injury prone and he did not see the field much. This season is going to be different. He will be starting more often. As of right now he is still with Baltimore Blast. When the indoor league is done then he goes outdoor. Bailey plays football year round. This is a player that we must see on our national team soon. We cannot afford for his talent to be wasted.

Isaac that is two Naps men they talkin bout. Yuh name really suit yuh personality. Move the badge from yuh avatar cause yuh name alone disrespectful.

When Bailey played SSFL the only man who had ball control and vision like him down South was Toussaint. He was midfielder and used to score plenty and deliver some telling passes. I my self does wonder what happened to him.

It is better for a fool to keep quiet than for him to open his mouth and confirm what is believed.

I glad for them men...Is amazing to see how much men want to fight down me but don't care if any of them make it to NAtional team. I just put that to see who is the men would respond. Three !!! out of a forum of more than 1000.That is disgraceful to see that 3 young players entering the professional realm. Men don't realize I would be most happy. Mcknight and Bailey went Naps ::)
