Michael Bradley signs with Roma

Roma signs Michael Bradley

Roma has completed the signing of U.S. midfielder Michael Bradley from Chievo Verona.

The club confirmed the deal Sunday and said it paid Chievo $4.6 million plus a 50 percent share in Romanian youngster Adrian Stoian.

Bradley has already joined his new teammates at their training camp in Riscone di Brunico.

The 24-year-old American had an impressive season with Chievo last season after moving from Borussia Monchengladbach. He spent the first half of 2011 on loan at Aston Villa.

Oscar to Chelsea confirmed. That is a good buy for Chelsea but it seeming like over kill now. Oscar is more like Mata than an all-out striker so now they have Mata, Hazard and Oscar. If Torres or another striker playing up top that leaving two places for Ramires Lampard, Marin, Sturridge, Lukaku, Mikel, Meireles, Essien. I ent even counting Malouda and all the youths.

Up at United I real worried by all the talk about Lucas Moura for 30M. I shocked that a 25M bid get turned down because this is the type of player who should be going to Portugal to season for a few years before somebody spend big money on him. Sao Paulo obviously think that United have more money than sense and expecting them to come back with money because young players rarely leave South America for that  kinda money.

He is a big gamble because right now he is just a man with speed who could dribble, no where near the end product of a player like Silva or Mata. So yuh looking at the kinda early product yuh used to get from Nani and Ronaldo and that is if he manage to settle. Added to that he is another wide player so is just a next man to fight up with Nani, Valencia and Young.

For 30M United could have Baines and Dembele walk into 1st team positions where they actually need players. Baines at left back and Dembele in the “Scholes” role.

In fact in general I scratching my head at teams pursuing players that are very good but are in positions where they currently well-stocked.

Arsenal want Cazorla when they have Walcott, Ox, Gervinho but still weak in defence and in the middle

Liverpool after Joe Allen when they have Gerrard, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Aquilani but they very weak on the wings

City and United want Van Persie. But City have Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko already competing while United have Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez probably playing for one place if Kagawa is the new linchpin.

Arsenal lacks top quality at CAM (Rosicky, Ramsey, Diaby, Ox are better than average in varying degrees but none is a top player), which is where Cazorla will probably play. He is probably best viewed as a replacement for Fabregas in the Arsenal system. Besides, their defensive weakness is not so much due to personnel but to the integration of the team. The midfield doesn't work hard enough on defence. That was why M'Vila was such a big topic earlier. Apparently Wenger trusts Coquelin to step up. I have my doubts, although I think he is a promising player.

Manchester United agree a fee to sign Arsenal's Robin van Persie
« Reply #402 on: August 15, 2012, 12:53:29 PM »

Manchester United have agreed a £24m deal to sign Arsenal striker Robin van Persie on a four-year contract.

The 29-year-old will meet with United in the next 48 hours to discuss personal terms and have a medical.

Arsenal captain Van Persie announced in July he would not extend his current deal, which expires in June 2013.

The Netherlands international scored 44 goals in 57 games for club and country last season, including two against United.

More to follow.

There were reports coming out of Manchester this morning that he was spotted near Old Trafford. Its obvious why now ;D . It would be nice to get an attacking midfield player before the transfer window closes.

Wow.. Talk about bending over backwards for Man United..

Bess they had take less money and say he could only go to a club outside the EPL.. Then give themselves a better chance of being up there in contention for the league.

They just bull themselves.

24 million for an injury-prone striker who had one good season in 8.  good bit of business.   we already have several replacements for him goal wise.  all we need now is to bring in a DM and we good.  true gooners know what time it is

The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today are Christians who acknowledge Jesus ;with their lips and walk out the door and deny Him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.
