Well as you could tell I in the States and I was watching the game to see cornell continually slip by the Chivas defenders in the first half, only to be denied by the sliding tackles of the defence as they were fighting to keep up with his pace. On three occassions he blow past them and as soon as he go to take his shot at goal they come sliding in and in one occassion the keeper advance with a defender sliding also. The coach at half time said they could of been up by three since they were creating the chances but could not finish.
Anyway the GOALS. Well both of them was Landon Donovan's assist. He did most of the work and Cornell finish. The first one, ball was played down the right flank and crossed in both teams went up for it only to have it go deeper into the box, the ball fell neatly to Glen and he tucked it in.
Second Goal. Landon picked up the ball from the defence and made a run right down the center, as he charged in , glen was in only option because it was a counter attack . Donovan possessed the ball and started drifting down the right flank he was buying time as Cornell made a run through two defenders but still onside on the left side of the goal. By this time one other LA Galaxy man reached , but he choose to give glen who was aptly placed. Donovan very neatly crossed the ball and cornell made a one time shot to goal and scored. Landon crossed from the right flank but inside the 18 yard box to cornell who ran into position on the left side, inside the 18 then placed landon's cross pass the diving keeper back to the right hand side of the goal. Excellent first time shot.
