Every Arsenal fan hates Howard Webb ... and we can see why again today. Neither of those yellow cards for the Togonator was deserved.

Arsene got it wrong in my opinion by playing such a high back line. Robbie Keane is quick and we all know Liverpool will kick it upfield and hope. And with a keeper that is always so reluctant to come off his line.
Djourou got lost too easily for the goal though.

And Cesc might be out for 2 months?

Great goal by RVP though ... he must be watching some DB10 dvd's

That IS so. You watch the game? If you did and thought that was supposed to be a sending off, then you should be a Chelsea fan. But ManUtd fans love Howard Webb, no?

Cut the shit... Webb was calling it tight all game.  Only man he give rope to was Lucas, other than that Keane get ah yellow that he didn't deserve and the fact is that on both cards to Adebayor (certainly the second) he came in studs up... even if the second wasn't a 'tackle'.  As a player you have to adjust to how the game is being called.

That aside...

Great result for Arsenal, especially holding Liverpool scoreless in the second half with a man down.  Liverpool showed very little imagination in attack and brought on three ineffective substitutes way to late in the game to affect any kinda change.

Great goal by RvP... sublime first touch, sublime finish.   Boss response by Keane, reading the flight of the ball and take that one time off the half-volley.  Incredible goals on either side.

webb, webb webb... this man has some history with arsenal fans. he sent off ade and toure in the carling cup final a few years back.   the first yellow on ade was soft the second was a yellow card offense to be sure.    lucas must have some incriminating info on webb cause ent no way he shoulda last 80+ minutes.   a fair result in the end, liverpool might win the league despite benitez.

With or without him they are not winning it. Did you see the shit they throw on the field when they 'appeared' to  be in search of a winner? I never understand why Keane cannot finish a game, is not like they bring on somebody better. Why can't they play Babel in his natural position now and then?

Fabregas Blow

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is set to be sidelined until April with a knee injury.

The Spaniard had to be substituted at half-time in Arsenal's 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday following a challenge with Xabi Alonso.

The full extent of the damage has now been revealed, with Arsene Wenger confirming that he has a partial rupture of the medial knee ligament.

Fabregas had only recently returned to fitness following a problem with the same knee and he will now miss most of the rest of the season.

He will have to sit out a crucial period of the Premier League as well as Arsenal's UEFA Champions League tie against Roma.
Blow

Fabregas replaced William Gallas as Arsenal captain in November and Wenger admits it is a major blow to lose him.

"The news is not good because it is a partial rupture of the medial knee ligament that is taking us three to four months," Wenger told Sky Sports News.

"We count four. He will be working hard to return earlier but we count four months.

"We will miss him of course but we have to find a way to compensate for the fact that he will not be on the pitch.

"I am sure we can deal with it and when he comes back he can help us to get over the line in the final months."

Wenger added that he had no complaints over Alonso's tackle, saying: "The challenge was fair and honest.

"It is the kind of thing that can happen and you have to accept. It was purely accidental."

Reinforcements

Wenger accepts that he may now have to venture into the transfer market to bring in reinforcements.

He commented: "It is more likely yes, but we also have internal solutions. We are not desperate."

Asked about Zenit St Petersburg playmaker Andrei Arshavin, Wenger added: "At the moment nobody is going out and nobody is coming in.

Fabregas will be out for four monthsUpdated: December 23, 2008, 8:48 AM EST 163 comments add this RSS blog email Print LONDON (AP) - Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will be out of action for as long as four months because of medial ligament damage to his right knee.

Manager Arsene Wenger said Tuesday that the Spain midfielder had a partially ruptured ligament and will be on the sidelines for at least three months.

"The news is not good," Wenger said. "He will be working hard to come back earlier but I count four months."

That will rule him out of Arsenal's Champions League matches against AS Roma on Feb. 24 and March 11, and further hit his team's attempts to haul itself back into contention for the title.

"We will miss him, of course, but how much is difficult to say," Wenger said. "We have to find a way and we want to find a way to compensate the fact that he is not on the pitch to give everyone a bit more."

Wenger may now consider signing new players during the January transfer window to fill the gap left in Arsenal's midfield.

"It is more likely but we also have internal solutions and we are not desperate," Wenger said.

Fabregas hobbled out of Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Liverpool, which left Arsenal eight points off the lead and in fifth place, following a tackle by Xabi Alonso at the end of the first half.

Wenger said the tackle was fair and he did not blame Alonso.

Arsenal has struggled badly this season with several key players on the sidelines. Tomas Rosicky has not played for a year because of a hamstring injury, Theo Walcott is out with a dislocated shoulder, and Eduardo da Silva has only just returned to the reserve team after 10 months out with a broken ankle.

William Gallas was stripped of the captaincy after publicly criticizing his teammates' attitude and the team appears to be missing Mathieu Flamini and Alexander Hleb, who left during the offseason.

He didn't. United's next game was against Blackburn in the Carling Cup.
