Clayton Ince is a Reading Champion
Coventry City FC

City 'keeper Clayton Ince met young supporter Rose Oxley recently when she brought in her favourite book, 'Clarice Bean Spells Trouble' to show the Club's nominated Reading Champion.

Reading Champions is a nationwide run scheme run by the National Literacy Trust's National Reading Campaign.

Since it's beginning in 2000, the scheme has identified champions from groups as diverse as the fire service, the police force, the Royal Navy, Community reading clubs, prisoners, football teams, national and local businesses and the voluntary sector.

Clayton became a reading champion at his previous club, Crewe Alexandra, and has continued to be an inspiration to children whilst at Coventry City.

The Trinidad and Tobago International met a group of local school children earlier in the season as part of the clubs 'Playing for Success' scheme and told them that his favourite book is 'Illustrated Long Walk to Freedom' by Nelson Mandela, he said:

"I enjoy reading books about people making a difference in the lives of young ones. When I speak to children about reading I try to help them understand that reading is part of life and to enjoy it. It shouldn't be seen as some sort of punishment, it is enjoyable for anybody at any age."

The National Reading Campaign believes that to change attitudes and motivate children, particularly boys, to read, it is vital that they have contact with reading role models - men and boys from all walks of life who inspire others to read. The Reading Champions scheme provides a framework through which schools and other organisations can build a network of these champions and develop a culture in which the reading habit is nurtured and supported.

I'm just curious...where are there ppl that think such a thing ? I am not asking, where there are ppl who might tell yuh that, cause obviously you seem to hear it. You hearing that in Maryland ? From Black or White Americans ? if Americans would they hear bout Clayton Ince and know better now ?
Like I tell my kids,(nb: no ref. to your maturity, ah know yuh is ah big man) not because yuh hear somebody say something, mean you should give credrnce to any of it by repeating it, especially when yuh know is tata. Cause niether you or dem believe the tata yet it still spread, and it only meant to aggravate....Like when yuh mash some dog do, and it leave marks all over the place, and most difficult to clean, it seems yuh spread more than yuh mash...so is best yuh doh be part of it at all....Take care

Well done Mr. Ince
