June 1st - The official NOT-MENTIONING-ENGLAND Day
« on: May 31, 2006, 10:54:04 AM »
I hereby suggest that tomorrow, June 1st, be known as Not Mentioning England (NME) Day. Nobody should post, forward or reply to anything regarding the England team, their chances, their strengths, weaknesses, Beckham's hair, or Crouch's dancing etc. I would like the management of AWATT to consider giving a ticket to anyone breaking this pact, even though it cannot be termed as waggonism per se. Instead, I would encourage everyone to focus on all things T&T.  :beermug:

The KJBTACS Committee will observe tomorrow's day as well as we do not generally support England, unless they are playing the US or Germany.

I admire all English supporters, always so certain of success and always ends up as loosers. But that´s why England is the most amusing country in the WC:)

Despite having a Swede as coach they will as always disappoint. And no, Crouch can´t dance...

England's Neville misses training
1 June 2006
by Reuters

England right back Gary Neville missed training on Thursday following a hamstring problem during the 3-1 pre-FIFA World Cupâ„¢ friendly win over Hungary.
"It's not a major problem. It's just a precaution after Tuesday night," an FA spokesman said as the rest of the squad went through their paces at Manchester United's training ground.

Neville came off at halftime during Tuesday's game at Old Trafford and was replaced at right-back by midfielder Jamie Carragher.

Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said at the time Neville had come off as a precautionary measure.

Eriksson has no straight replacement in his squad at right back, meaning that Carragher or Owen Hargreaves would have to fill in.

England, who play Jamaica on Saturday in a friendly, open their FIFA World Cup campaign in Group B against Paraguay on June 10.
