Yorke hails influence of Birchall
Yorke's side are in the same group as England
Trinidad & Tobago captain Dwight Yorke has praised midfielder Chris Birchall for the impact he has had on the team.
Port Vale's Birchall became the first white player to play for the country in 60 years when he was called up during the World Cup qualifying campaign.
"At the time he joined the team he was the odd guy out but we all welcome him with open arms and he's been very much a key player to our team," said Yorke.
"He's come in and done a fantastic job and has become an influential player."
Trinidad & Tobago open their World Cup campaign against Sweden on 10 June before playing England on 15 June and Paraguay five days later.
Yorke added: "Chris is a fantastic bloke, he takes everything in his stride.
"We are very lucky that we have someone as passionate as him, and he brings something different to the table
