And his real name is.........
« on: June 06, 2005, 08:50:32 AM »
WHITLEY, Aurtis

This is the name that Aurtis Whitley a.k.a. Otis Seaton a.k.a. Aurtis Seaton a.k.a. Otis Whitley went by on the official match card in Saturday's game.  I found this on the FIFA.com website.

At last we know what the man name is!

is it just me or is it the case that trini players dis rounds seem to have a lot of mystery surrounding the spelling of their names.

Apart from the case of Mr.  Seaton/Whitley, we have Densil/Densill/Denzil/Denzel Theobold/Theobald and Durance/Duarance/Daurance Williams.

Sorry for being off topic but i notice Jason Scotland and Khaleem Hyland (Highland, Belgium) becoming legends at orginal europe clubs because their last names.  I think if we give players nick names, at least, after places in Europe and that will quickly get them foreign contracts. You know we is trend setters already, ask Lasana Liburd

Francisco - Pacho, Pancho, Paco - (Maturana)

Rijsbergen, Rijsberger, Rijsenberg, Rijserbergen, Rijsenberger (Wim)

actually all three are correct. Pancho, Paco and Pacho are all nicknames for Francisco.
Trini to de bone; Pointman to de bone.

Who fault is this (Players Names). ?
« Reply #23 on: March 17, 2011, 08:15:16 AM »
Who should be blame for players names not properly spelt.

For example, Devorn Jorsling has played for T&T over a decade now, that includes youth level to senior level and only becuase he manage to sign for a foreign club I found out that his real name is spelt like Devorn and NOT Devon.

Back to this mystery...I recently found out that the Otis Whitley Grounds is the correct spelling as given by the man himself. And he get the grounds after the World Cup 2006

Sooo...in reply to Sam question, is probly the players themselves who doh know they own name. I cah blame the reporter for not asking to see a man birth certificate if he tell you how to spell his own name.

According to the Liburd story: http://www.socawarriors.net/forum/index.php?topic=5687.0

Quote
That was when Aurtis Whitley chose to become Otis Seaton. One snag though. The "footballer otherwise known as Aurtis Whitley" has to wait for his passport to expire before he can make the transformation complete.
"When that happens," he explains, "I can change my name to Aurtis Otis Seaton-Whitley if I still want to."
