Sorry, I'm from T&T. but we aren't winning anything. We basically played a game of catch up for the match. You really think we can WIN against England just because of Dwight Yorke? Don't you think the English side already has plans for York? Anf the rest of the team plays likw St. Francis Girls College in the PSA grounds. No doubt the scoreline will be 4-0 or 5-0 to England. This isn't magic, and this isn't the movies where a coach tells the players some crappy pick-me-up story and they win to the rousing violins of Han Zimmer. You ridicule the States for being overrated due to their easy competition in Concacaf but all of a sudden one of the WORST teams in it suddenly is up to par with the Europeans? Give me a break...
T&T fans (especially Trinidadians) - they tend to get in over their heads a lot and get arrogant. Also a lot of people who aren't even into football all of a sudden become ex-coaches. It's all a pipe dream. As far as football is concerned, Trinidad is schizophrenic. Half the time it imagines itself to be a part of the South America legacy just because we are off the coast of Venezuala. The other half we imagine ourselves part of the European legacy because a few of our players (most notably Yorke) play in clubs over there. All this when the truth is our legacy is a struggling one in the WEAKEST DIVISION OF ALL TIME, Concacaf. the same USA that everyone is drubbiing on as weaklings that don't belong in the World Cup are the ones who dominate us everytime we face them to the point of shaking in our boots.
It's unbelievable how these damnfool Trinis gets. Expect nothing less than a 5-nought defeat tomorrow. Mark my words:
>>>>>>> by a magnitude of parsecs..
It's one thing to show support for your team no matter what but this thread is showing perfect examples of typical Trinidadians overhyping themselves (while bashing the deserved competition) when they haven't proved anything yet. 5-0 loss with English fans playin us off with steeldrums, from the field to the airport...
You might be born here but you aren't trinidadian, but you aren't trinidadian to be talking that mess. If you have any passion in you would realise that you support the team no matter what, the odds are stacked against us yes, but it is not impossible. Â If we lose life goes on and we live to play another day. But if we win
The power of positive thinking , that is what is going one here, if you go to game believing that you can't do it, you might as well roll over because you have defeated yourself. Trinis are passionate people and I for one would not have it any other way.
It is a shame that you chose to use your first post to, to call your fellow countrymen "dam fools." But i guess with a name like vybz kartel you are a wanna be yardie, and any better should not be expected. Â (RF no disrespect intend here)
