Now I wonder if this will bring in all fast bowlers or will it usher in a new era of spin, either way, all of these men should only serve 2 years

Roberts Joins Windies Selection Panel

Thursday, July 13, 2006 @ 22:29:08 EDT

Fast bowling legend Andy Roberts has replaced Joey Carew on the West Indies selection panel.
Roberts, 55, who appeared in 47 Test matches, is the only new face on the panel chosen at a WICB board meeting in Barbados on Thursday.

Gordon Greenidge and Clyde Butts were retained on the panel, which also includes head coach Bennett King.

Greenidge will serve as chairman for the next two years.

It is not yet clear if the West Indies captain will be officially included on the panel. The West Indies captain will also be a part of the selection committee.

Carew, who served as West Indies selector during the periods 1977-1979, 1985-1987 and 1998 to this year June, withdrew from the list of nominees earlier this week.
