I actually think the article is well balanced. It raises questions without really passing too much judgement. I think the key question raised is what happens to development if Wim gets fired. This is why the model of having the TD concentrate on development without being too involved in coaching and having the national team coaches not involved too much in development is the best. But, under the Warner plan Wim and Anton control everything. Does that make sense? Does that throw us back to square one and is the current deal a sweetheart deal for Leo?

Yes, this is the most organized we have ever been. But there are a variety of reasons for this fact and to tell the truth the previous benchmark was not that high anyways so let's no break our arms patting ourselves on the back. Our newfound interest in building for the future should not give license to Jack et al to create deals that may be wasteful. In the end, "having an axe to grind" may be the only motivation to bring a system of checks and balances into play. So long as the information reported is accurate, the motivation is irrelevant. Ent?

so dis is a real sweethart deal for wim and leo. well, maybe we need a bit of dutch bobol to balance or counteract some of the trini bobol that does be going on.  ;)

local coach development should fall under the purvue of the TD - this should be part of Wim's mandate. there was mention in a previous post about getting local coaches to use more technology in their methods - no real details. but it does point to a difference in approaches between local and foreign. eventually, they need to be following the same script.

The foreign coaches should have involved the best local coaches in the process. Look what happen to Jamaica! All dem foreign coaches but their locals left in the dark. Man could talk all the technology they want, football remains on the field. I read a big article about the Dutch and Brazilian teams and their technolgy for WC 2006, yet both teams get hard cuff. The Development of talent, Training and preparation of players,  and good competition remains the key spice in the cook.

good talk.  :beermug:

ah take a little different slant on this one. remember all this talk about momentum after the WC? ah was staring at this word momentum. momentum doh really mean enthusiasm for the game, increased fan interest, international exposure, player opportunity or anything like that. momentum mean money. this buildup of momentum mean more money will be flowing into t&t football.

this presents opportunities. one opportunity is that t&t football must adapt to this increase in funding aka investment. what's the point of preparing the same way, using the same methods when you have an extra few bills kicking around? is only so much football, net and grounds you need. is only so many coach you need. paying the same coach more eh go improve nothing. this is where technology comes in.

and only one maybe two references about this technology - what is the plan for this? this is where some of that momentum is passing. ah feel that the local coaches that embrace these "foreign" methods will find their way into the fold. this is what i mean by following the same script.

ah would like to hear how local coaches would handle this increase in momentum. if they doh think that following the dutch "technological" methods are the right path, what would their plans be to improve t&t football? would this plan use the momentum generated by the WC or squander it?
