Cox named Gillingham's club captain.
Gillingham FC

25 year old midfielder Michael Flynn has today been identified the man to lead Gillingham into battle on the pitch this season, named team captain by manager Ronnie Jepson.
It's just reward for Flynn, who's scored 10 goals for the Gills since arriving from Wigan Athletic in February 2005.
Flynn has vast experience for a player of his age, and hopes that can rub off on the rest of the squad: "You've just got to go out and give 100% to your game, and if my football experience can help them on the pitch then that'll make me happy as well, and I'm sure with a few of us talking it just instils that extra little bit of belief in the team and I just hope I can do that for all the boys.
"It's an incentive for me, I'm captaining them now and I want to keep the captaincy, I want to show that I'm a worthy captain, and I want to go out there and prove it to myself even more." said Flynn.
While Flynn will wear the captain's armband and be the on field leader, Trinidad and Tobago international defender Ian Cox has been appointed club captain, where he will represent the playing staff at official functions.
"I'll be wearing the arm band and doing the business end on the pitch, and Ian, you know, he's had a good career and he's very experienced, so I guess the manager's just thought if there are things that some of the younger boys, you know with me not being the oldest, they might be able to speak to Ian a little bit better off the pitch, but like for me and Ian, I couldn't be happier for him and he's the same with me." said the 25 year old.
