Manswell Off To Missouri State
« on: August 06, 2006, 07:34:32 PM »
Dextroy Manswell, a forward who has competed for the past two seasons at Williston (N.D.) State College, will transfer to Missouri State University and play next season for the Bears of coach Barry Hinson. Manswell will have two years of eligibility available to him with the Bears.

A 6-foot-7, 215-pounder, Manswell is from Scarborough, Tobago, in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. He plans to major in business at Missouri State. He played two seasons at Williston State for the Tetons of Coach Terry Olson in the Montana-Dakota League.

The Tetons in 2005-06 were 23-11 and advanced to the national junior college tournament in Hutchinson, Kan., where they won one and lost one. Manswell averaged 13 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots a game. Manswell attended Roxborough Composite High where he played basketball and cricket. He has a brother, Kerston, who competed in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and is currently undefeated as a heavyweight boxer.

"Dex Manswell fills a need that we’ll have next season with the quickness and athleticism he’ll bring to us on the inside," said Hinson. "He’s a great rebounder and shot blocker and he’ll fit right in with the low post people we have coming back for next season. He’s excited about coming to Missouri State and he’ll be a great fit for our team."
