Stoke is pushing Man City hard. Hughes, like he still vex he get fired.
They have had some good looks at goal.
I ain't watching, but I read that KJ had a miss. Was it bad or just a 'could've done better'?

He nip the ball off Nasri who was dawdling in the back but then put his shot too close to Joe Hart trying to go far post.
Ah ok. Thanks.

KJ having a time with that Man City defence, rell rough  up. First touch en looking too bad, just needs a goal which will come soon if Stoke continue dominating (yea Stoke dominating)  :beermug:. Crouch on d bench biting he lip

I didn't want to say Stoke dominating for fear of jinxing them, but as the 2nd half continues, Man City not looking like the side with supposedly the better talent.

Especially with d Altidore goal which was "cleared". What about goal line technology with the vibrating watch when the ball crosses the line. I am sure it was over

It was over the line but the referee had already blown the play dead. He did not extend he advantage which was a shame

In the replay it seems to me that he blow a couple for an extended time for them to stop. Also, in one of the alternate angles yuh could see the ref put the whistle to mouth while they still tussling and when Altidore break free the was already running to the spot signalling for a free kick. This is not American football where the ref could flag a play and then cancel the infraction if yuh score on the same play.

If he going to play advantage, he has to signal that so everyone is aware and playing to that. However once he blow the whistle play supposed to stop. In this case the ref didn't call advantage, he blow the whistle.

Not only that, the instant Jozy break free you could kinda see Sagna stop playing and turn back towards the ref... seeming to confirm that the foul had been called.

--------------

Meanwhile, Gareth Barry paying early and immediate dividends at Everton.  Not a dominant performance, the opposition was too good... but a masterclass in passing and defending.  Everton are immediately more organized and dangerous going forward, and he'll prove a tremendous partner for Ross Barkley, who terrorized Chelsea every time he ventured forward.  He was a little bit of a greedy bitch though, trying to do too much at times.

Palace played too many voluntary/needless/unambitious negative passes during the course of the game. They fell on the sword they sharpened. There was a way out of that specific situation (in the lead up to the goal) defensively other than playing the ball negatively.

Dikagcoi was forced into remedying a bad situation and unsurprisingly suffered for it.

(How is this situation different from a basketballer drawing a foul?)

There is no equivalent play in basketball.

I don't know why Hughes take of KJ. He was presenting a credible threat. Right now, Arsenal just looking to see out the rest of the game.

I think Stoke gone to far left, with the knock. Now they ain't bringing no air cross at all.not playing to KJ strength...not that he not strong in the knock, but the knock is not where he will dominate opposing defenders. Walters have shares in this team?

Almost gone from a one dimensional team to a different one dimensional team

So far Stoke hasn't done poorly with the knock. In the 2nd half they have more of the ball. But they lacking that final ball.

So far this season is making me re-assess Hughes as a manager. I guess the secret is to not give him any money to spend.

Exactly, the final 3 rd knock wasn't causing any doors to open..so instead of sending some grapple or kicking the door down, they stand outside knocking, KJ an all had to come back in midfield to participate in the knock...needed a change up, to adjust to the team yuh playing and just try something else, instead of  the knock with knock masters.

Charlie Adam is de biggest problem, to me. He supposed to be the advanced creative midfielder and his decision-making is a mess.

Man City knock right now is a thing of beauty.

Meanwhile, you figure is only a matter of time before Spurs score on Cardiff.

Game done?

What is Fellaini purpose?
Smalling is just barely above water.
Ashley Young needs to move further up the field, you can't dive for a penalty if you not in the box.
Rooney is dropping too deep, and city isn't at all concerned about wellbeck.
