this hurting me real bad.. I'm a massive fan of his.... He will be an absolute nightmare.. he has everything to be great in the prem.... City's best buy and he hasnt touched a ball

How long before Ancelotti gets the axe?

Not saying that he's a bad manager- in fact I think he's one of the best around, but the team needs a breath of fresh air, and sometimes a change of coach is the required injection....

The EPL is pretty mediocre this season.  Imagine Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool all havin below par seasons.  Big yawn.  The bright light has been Spurs.  Man City doin better than before but they inconsistent like the rest of them.

The competitiveness of the league is there for all to see...the last place team beat the current Champions today... it's the best league in the world at the moment... United Arsenal Chelsea are all beign tested by everyone... it's not a run away league like La Liga where every weekend its a real or barca win .. only weekend I look forward to in La Liga is when Real and Barca square off

FORZA EPL!!!

Some of the other Spanish clubs need an injection of funds to get some more parity.  Madrid and Barca have the monopoly of star quality players, unlike in England where the top players are a bit more spread out...

Teams like Villarreal, Valencia and Sevilla would be serious title contenders if they had a few bigger names players...

In all honesty though, in the past 2 seasons (and so far this season as well) the gulf between Barca and Madrid, not in the standings but on the field of play itself has been as large as the gulf between Madrid and the rest of the pack... It has really become a lopsided league....and it hasn't always been like that, but money is playing a bigger and bigger role in football today, as seen with teams like Man City and Chelsea...and in Spain the money doesn't seem to be spread evenly.

Give Valencia and Villareal an open checkbook like Man City and Chelsea and the battle at the top of the table would be alot more interesting.

yea no doubt

the market in England is better for investment it seems... better TV Rights..attendances ... so the owner makes more money... and now with the success of the EPL it will only get more investment

I think Ancelotti doing the best he can with the players he has at his disposal; I think they need new players to help freshen up the side. I doubt a new manager would be able to get better results with the same tired over worked players; you might as well ask him to get blood from a stone. Plus not even God could teach #21 to troway less or Anelka to play like he has a pulse. If they are going to get players they might as well keep Ancelotti.

Chelsea's way to solve a problem  ::)

1) Throw money at it
2) Fire the coach

Kicker I see what you are saying, but Barcelona could turn around and say well we are doing it on talent developed at their club.

Yeah but Barca still spends a lot on players when they feel the need...Ibra wasn't cheap, Villa wasn't cheap, D. Alves wasn't cheap...they spent big money on a defender (don't remember his name now) who barely even played..not sure if he's even still in the roster.  Barca is definitely a model for player development but they also have deep wallets that give them the extra cutting edge when they need it.

Some times I don't really get these arguments. Since the Premier League started in 1992 only four teams have won the league with Blackburn  being a one time winner. Really its no different than in Spain, or Italy in the same time period. This season Hercules beat Barca & Levante beat Real Madrid. really when you look at it, it's the same

Quote from: Owen Coyle
However, Coyle is optimistic Ricardo Gardner (knee) and Jlloyd Samuel (calf) may be back in action soon.

"I would hope that Ricardo Gardner and Jlloyd Samuel will be fit by the middle of January,'' Coyle said. "They are doing little bits and pieces at the moment and they are certainly on their way back. It's been a long time for those lads so we will have to make sure that we tread warily.
