Police holds Wasa
At the Wasa ground, St Joseph, the hosts Wasa Clean and White were held to a 1-1 draw with Police. After a goalless first half, Wasa’s Darrin Lewis opened the scoring in the 65th minute, but Neri Joseph’s 74th minute goal for Police meant a sharing of the points.

It was 65 minutes before an ambulance arrived, by which time it was too dark to continue the game at Trinity College ground. Super League clubs eye Toyota Classic upsets.
By: Nigel Simon (Guardian).
Joe Public and Crab Connection will both be hoping to make a big impact when they line up in the Toyota Classic quarterfinal round of matches against teams from the T&T Professional Football League Senior Division today. The inaugural Toyota Classic began with all seven clubs of the PFL and the top five clubs in the National Super League (at the end of round 15) going head-to-head for a total prize package of $70,000.
That field has now withered down to eight clubs who are still chasing the $30,000 top prize, while runners-up get $20,00, third collects $15,00 and fourth $5,000.
Having seen fellow Super League clubs, Superstar Rangers, WASA Clean & White and Police all taken their exit at the first-hurdle, the two remaining Super League clubs, who were both on first round byes, are desperate not to make their first match their last.
At the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, in the night’s first quarterfinal encounter, PFL front-runners and First Citizens Bank Cup holders, VIBE CT 105 W Connection will face off with United Petrotrin.
W Connection was one of four clubs on first-round byes, while the Oilmen avoided a first round exit, coming from 1-0 down to beat Rangers 4-3 and they also managed a 2-2 draw with today’s opponent in a recent league clash.
Two hours later, the “Eastern Lions†of Joe Public, boasting at least 10 over-seas players, will do battle with Caledonia AIA/Fire, 1-0 winners over Police in round 16 at the same venue.
While Joe Public have proven to be the team to beat in the Super League over the last two seasons, AIA/Fire has been an inconsistent bunch in the PFL, but are coming off a 2-0 win over Petrotrin in the league, setting the stage for quite a match.
An interesting double-header is also carded for the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo from 6 pm.
Coming off their 1-1 league draw at the same venue on Tuesday night, CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and National Quarries North East Stars will go head-to-head for the fourth time this season in the first match.
Despite their poor league form, Stars have also managed to defeat Jabloteh twice in the league, 2-1 on both occasions, and are keen to keep that record intact.
However, Stars were not that convincing in the round-of-16 and only managed a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over WASA after a 0-0 draw. In what is expected to be an even contest, Crab Connection will be anxious to do battle with Defence Force in the second match from 8pm.
But Crab Connection will need to be at their best to stop the high-flying “Teteron Boys,†4-1 victorious over fellow PFL club Tobago United in the first round.
The winners of the W Connection/United Petrotrin quarterfinal will meet the winners of the Defence Force and Crab Connection clash for a place in the final, while the Joe Public/Caledonia winner and San Juan Jabloteh/North East Stars winner will face each other in a semifinal double-header on October 28 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. The final and third-place play-off will also be played at Mucurapo on November 4.
