Avocat United took control of the 2006 Fyzabad Community Football League being played at the Petrotrin Fyzabad Recreation Ground, after a 5-1 win over Oropouche All-Blacks.
Avocat’s Akeem John got the scoring going in the 5th minute with his first of the afternoon. Jamal Clarence 2-0 after 10 minutes, and Jason Joseph 3-0 in the 30th.
John completed a double with a 36th minute strike.
The match was all but over as a contest at half-time, but Paul Chester got in on the goal-fest and struck his team’s fifth in the 65th.
In the 70th minute, Jason Pierre got a consolation effort for the All-Blacks.
New Comers had two victories in one day to catch up with the league leaders.
At 10:30 am on Sunday at the Colley Street Recreation Ground, New Comers beat New City 3-1. Jeremie Primus got goals in the 23rd and 49th and Elliot Briggs in the 51st minute, in reply to Anjel Williams 15th minute strike for City. At 12pm New Comers pulled off an incredible feat, beating Princes Town united 1-0 on a third minute goal from Adiel Agard.
