Gally Cummings joins North East Stars.
By: Ian Prescott (Express).

Former Trinidad and Tobago national football coach Everald "Gally" Cummings had his first day yesterday with Pro League champion club North East Stars.
The Sangre Grande-based team has recruited Cummings to assist with the coaching due to an illness to incumbent coach Miguel Hackett, which has seen the former T&T and Defence Force midfielder sidelined for several periods during the season.
Yesterday, Stars owner Darryl Mahabir, confirmed that Gally was on the job.
"Yes, he came in yesterday and had a look at things. We still have Hackett here, but Gally will help tighten up in areas where we need it."
Hackett also confirmed that he was unable to always carry his full load of work due to illness. "In a way I more or less phasing out gradually because of sickness. There are times when I can make it and other times thing are not so good," Hackett said.
Stars have other problems as well. They have been hit by the recent departure of Marvin Oliver and Joseph Peters, who joined them earlier this season when Hackett came from Super League club Crab Connection.
"There was an agreement with them prior to when the season started that as long as Crab Connection came out they would return to that team. There was some doubt whether Crab Connection would be fielding a team this season so, we made that arrangement with them, and they also agreed to our terms."
At the Launch of the First Citizens Bank Cup on Tuesday, Mahabir described his club as a team in transition, giving that as a reason for inconsistent results. But he stated that all of that is about to change. After leading the Pro League at one point this season, Stars have now dropped to fourth.
Mahabir's team has been further hit by the departure of several of their Guyanese national footballers who are away on national duty at the Digicel Caribbean Cup qualifier in the Netherland Antilles. Stars will have to do without captain Charles Pollard, Kayode McKinnon, Shandel Samuel, and Howard Lowe who will all be absent for their next T&T pro league match on September 10 against Starworld Strikers at Sangre Grande. However, they should be back in time for the September 15 First Citizens Bank Cup match up with Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA. Mahabir is also looking to bring in a few new players when the local transfer window opens again.
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.
