:applause: :applause: Well said Dutty. The problem Smalls have there os 2 fold:

1. The media giving out the wrong impression.

2. The youths not intrested. If you have no intrest in something you would have no reason to do any reserch on it. It started back in the late 80's early 90's....if it not on the homework list then forget about it. History on South Africa or any other part of the world is not necessary to pass exams and MAKE MONEY so it is not important.

In this thread we go only deal with the first one.

sorry, but I cannot give SM the excuse of being a youth on this one. He is an intelligent youth with access to the internet, library and some Groiller Encyclopedia....yes he can do some research on this before posting.

I have asked some very good frnes to make a post on this. He is the #1 researcer on Tb in Canada. also ah ole fete match man, and he 3nd in command say,

MDR TB is a bad disease as - is difficult and long to treat - requires +++ government input/ community - can be dealt with with the right attitude - easier to catch than HIV - the MDR TB is probably one of the most detrimental factors to such a country hoping to host such an event...It is a bi problem in Africa but there are places that are worse  - none of whom would be hosting World Cup - see map Hopefully more to follow...Mrs G.

Global Incidence of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis

Matteo Zignol, Mehran S. Hosseini, Abigail Wright, Catharina Lambregts–van Weezenbeek, Paul Nunn, Catherine J. Watt, Brian G. Williams, and Christopher Dye

Stop TB Department, World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland

"The results of the present analysis will have significant implications for planning TB control at both the global and country levels. Currently, the large majority of patients with MDR-TB in low-resource countries do not have access to proper diagnostic services and to the quality-assured second-line drugs needed to treat drug-resistant TB. Plans to expand appropriate diagnostic and treatment services for patients with MDR-TB are urgently needed, particularly in countries where the burden of MDR-TB is greatest (such as China, India, and the Russian Federation) and in areas with the highest MDR-TB rates (such as Eastern Europe).
