The Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation has decided to request from FIFA that the ban imposed on goalkeeper Clayton Ince to prevent him from playing for his club Walsall be lifted with immediate effect.
On Saturday, Special Advisor to the TTFF, on behalf of its General Secretary Richard Groden informed FIFA of its decision. This was done after Ince’s situation with his thigh and groin injury was reconsidered.
“Mr Groden has asked me to contact the FIFA with a request that the ban which was imposed on Clayton Ince be lifted with immediate effect. The T&TFF, in any case, has been informed that Player Ince will not be used in tonight's match against Chester FC consistent with FIFA's directive,” Warner stated in the letter to FIFA.
Ince’s club has also promised to send to the FIFA and to the T&TFF all the medical evidence and scans of the player.
“On behalf of the T&TFF as well as on my own behalf, I wish to thank you and the FIFA for having intervened in this matter and we do now thank you for your kindness and understanding relative to this request” the TTFF’s letter added.
Ince will now continue to undergo rehab and possibly play in his team’s next encounter, if so desired, after the initial ban was imposed to prevent him from playing in any club match during the period his services was requested for by the TTFF, plus five additional days.
