Southampton lucky to be only 1-0 down. Blackpool had 3 goals disallowed and another chance come off the post. New coach dedicated to using youth but dem small man getting rough up bad.

Berris not trying to be funny or anything here but on a more serious note, for a player with Stern's reputation why has he not settled with any particular club/team for any period of time,i find a player like this clubs would want to keep,ah mean look at Sunderland why didn't they keep him?a goal scorer is someone that teams cherish,he should never have to struggle for a job he proved himself where ever he went,is there something that you or i don't know?just trying to get to the bottom of why he is being treated the way he does.

Is just like how Swansea presure Scottie last season and he was the demolition man. They find he not mobile enough. Is the Ebglish and them evrybody must be running every where, that's why they can't beat anyone (well except for we  ;D ) , look at Rooney hardest working forward in the world and struggling to score a goal.

We know that the English like their players to run and run but they had Erickson and now Capello both foreign, very few teams play immobile men as strikers nowadays.Chelsea with one of the best midfields have strikers who always run.

Stern staying at Southampton as no deal could have been reached between Norwich and last minute interest also from Crystal Palace. The transfer window closed and now they have to pay him the same wages they say they could'nt afford to pay ,but yet still thet they were asking for too much money when Hull Norwich and Crystal Palace was interested.By the logic of some ah all yuh here ,dais also Stern fault.

Stern have to be one of the most underappreciated players of all time.  Everywhere de man go he prove himself.  I thought the objective of football is to score goals and that is exactly what he has done.  But, despite his scoring record it seems like he can never rid himself of the haters and doubters.

Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.

Sterner mission for Saints without John?

Sterner mission for Saints without John?
Daily Echo

SAINTS striker Stern John’s absence from the Bristol City squad won’t cause the Robins a major headache when the two teams clash this weekend.

That’s because the Trinidad and Tobago legend – on loan at Ashton Gate from St Mary’s until the end of the season – has recently been unable to get into the City starting XI.

The striker whose 19 goals helped Saints stave off relegation last season has only netted twice in 17 appearances – nine starts and eight sub outings – for the Bristolians since leaving Saints in mid-October as part of the club’s cost-cutting measures.

John has come on as a second half sub in the Robins’ last three games, all of which have been won.

In fact, City have won six of their last seven Championship matches, including the last four on the trot.

The only game they failed to win was at home to leaders Wolves when they came from 0-2 down to draw 2-2.

John had been a regular starter up front with City’s record £2.25m signing from Crewe Nicky Maynard following his arrival at Ashton Gate.

But he has recently lost his starting place to the much larger physical presence provided by targetman Dele Adebola.

Maynard, after a slow start, is City’s leading scorer in the league with nine goals – including five in his last seven outings – while Adebola is second top marksman with seven.

City boss Gary Johnson has several options to replace John with on the bench for Saints’ visit.

John Akinde, signed from Blue Square Conference club Ebbsfleet last summer, or Slovakian Peter Styvar have made sub appearances recently.

Styvar was brought to England during the transfer window last month from MSK Zilina.
The Conquering Lion of Judah shall break every chain.
