SCARBOROUGH and St Augustine will battle in today’s semifinal of the BGTT Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) Big 5 tournament at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet.
Kick-off time is 4 pm with the winner progressing to the final on October 31, where they will meet either defending champs Naparima or Mucurapo.
Scarborough had a tough task in securing the Tobago Zone of the SSFL League phase, as they ran neck-and-neck with traditional arch-rivals Signal Hill until the final match of the season.
But Scarborough will be heartened by the fact that they have gotten good contributions thus far by Andel Noray, Jarron Quashie, Revin Caesar, Acqui Raymond, Jerome Williams, Rottan Sebro, Norrel Osmond and Christopher Crosby.
The “Green Machine” St Augustine have virtually cruised past their opposition in the East Zone, dethroning San Juan with matches to spare.
Under the guidance of former national defender Michael Grayson, the ALGICO-sponsored team have relied a lot on the national Under-16 duo of Daniel Joseph and Ryan O’Neil.
But other players have chipped in with good displays this season, such as Kahdine Balley, Glynn Franklyn, Anthony Moses and another national Under-16 player Stephan Chang.
