And By the way, Bora was presented with the keys to his home and motor car for the next 4 years today, as he signed a contract to assist the boyz in their "Back to Africa" campaign.

Milutinovic signs on to manage Reggae Boyz

November 15, 2006

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) -- Former U.S. coach Bora Milutinovic has agreed to manage the Jamaican national team, federation president Crenston Boxhill said.

Milutinovic, the only man to coach five different teams at the World Cup, agreed to a four-year contract which will pay him $1 million a year, Boxhill said. The announcement came on the same day Jamaica played Peru to a 1-1 draw in Kingston.

The 62-year-old Milutinovic replaces Carl Brown, who had been in charge for the past three months.

Besides Mexico (1986) and the United States (1994), Milutinovic also coached Costa Rica (1990), Nigeria (1998) and China (2002) at the World Cup.

All except China reached the second round of the tournament.

His last job as a coach of a national team was with Honduras, but that country failed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Jamaica, which qualified for the 1998 World Cup in France, was eliminated in the qualifying stages for the 2002 and 2006 championships.

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) - Jermaine Hue converted a 78th-minute penalty and Jamaica drew 1-1 with Peru in a friendly Wednesday night, when the Reggae Boyz announced that Bora Milutinovic would become their new manager.

Hue scored after Amilton Prado brought down forward Jermaine Johnson following a 30-meter run.

Jamaica dominated the first half, creating three clear scoring chances, but fell behind in the 64th minute when second-half substitute Alexander Sanchez tapped in Juan Miguel Vargas' cross four minutes after entering the match.

The Reggae Boyz appeared in control early, with Peruvian keeper having to tip one shot by Hue over the bar in the 24th and parrying another of his shots later off a corner.

The Peruvian keeper also denied striker Luton Shelton just before halftime.

The match was Carl Brown's last as manager of Jamaica, who signed a four-contract with Milutinovic, the only man to coach five different teams at the World Cup.
