Not aware of Joseph Charles ever fighting for the Commonwealth Crown. Who did he fight? And what division?

Vernon Lewis fought Clyde Gray for the Welterweight Title in 1977; but after digging around, it look like Lewis could be ah Guyanese  ;D, I eh sure.
