Digicel thanks CFU for big efforts in Cup Finals.

Digicel Group sponsorship manager Kieran Foley has expressed commendation to the Caribbean Football Union for what he described as a four-month period of  exciting and commendable action in the Digicel Caribbean Cup which concluded on Tuesday with Haiti’s 2-1 win over hosts Trinidad and Tobago.
Foley, who was the centre of the tournament’s organizing with his team and the rest of the CFU, relayed his gratitude to CFU President Jack Warner for the Union’s efforts over the period.
“The Digicel Caribbean Cup final may have ended with a Haiti win but after 69 games 242 goals, 24 teams involved 4 teams qualifying to the CONCACAF Gold Cup and RECORD crowd numbers, I think we can safely say that the tournament was a success!” Foley stated.
“As an international tournament (and although the Trini’s amongst us may not agree!! ) the result was a huge plus for a nation that battled to get here, played more games than any other, were 5 minutes from being knocked out in round 2 in Martinique (but for a goal very late in the game) and has their victory hugely welcomed by 10 million Haitians! We have had so many fantastic reports of elation, dancing and celebration not just in Port au Prince and throughout but in the USA with all ex-pats there,” Foley wrote in a letter to Warner.
“With regard to the finals being held here in Trinidad all I can say is that we were so lucky to have such dedicated professionals who all bought into the vision that the CFU and Digicel hoped to realize for this World staged international football tournament.
“As sponsors we are very proud of the end result and we would like to thank you sincerely for all your efforts. While it would be unfair to single out individuals I would like to commend the members of the TTFF and the CFU on working so well together and combining well with the efforts and hopes of the staff at Digicel.”
Foley also singled out Warner for his massive efforts during the planning stages and the actual staging of the event.
“ I realize that to praise the top is quite an easy task but I do wish to convey to you all the long hours, support and massive efforts that President Warner has obliged us not just since the tournament started in September but way back at the planning stages one year ago. His passion for this game and energy to ensure that Caribbean football is at the top of the World stage I can assure you is total and absolutely committed on his part, even to his own personal cost and time. Quite simply without his leadership, commitment and involvement we would not have been able to have such a wonderful festival of football over the past 4 months,” ended Foley whose company, according to Warner, is interested in renewing a sponsorship deal with the CFU.
The real measure of a man's character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.

Digicel get some damn good publicity from this....and regionally not just in T&T.

If future tournaments are done at this level things looking good.

Digicel is the biggest winner in Haiti's victory. The company has opened over 1 million accounts in less than a year in Haiti, which is currently Digicel's biggest market in the caribbean. The local rivals Teleco and Haitel are left clueless as to how to tackle the growing popularity of the giant phone company.
