He has a yellow card and Keano, de master tactician dat he is, was saving Yorke for de final game next Sunday, instead of risking a 2nd yellow for De General in de second to last game against Burnley.   ;)

Southampton is 6th and play their last game at home to the already relegated (2nd to last) Southend. Kenwyne and co. have a great chance to make the playoffs. Lets hope Crystal Palace beat up on Derby 2-morrow and then Southampton creep in via the playoffs... ;D

Promoted to the EPL with Derby's 2-0 loss today at Crystal Palace!!!  Well done!!

A remarkable job by manager Keane, his players, and Chairman Quinn.

Looking forward to seeing Carlos in the top flight next season.  Hopefully both Dwight & Stern will be retained as well!

Congrats to Sunderland and the T&T trio, I hope they represent well next season.

Special mention to Dwight Yorke as he has done almost everything, if not everything there is to accomplished in football.

Now lets hope Southampton can follow Sunderland into the Premiership as well.

Swansea could make the play-off, so good luck to them also.

Sad Jason Scotland didn't make it, but had it been 2 teams going up he would have been there for sure. Lets hope he moves on to a bigger team.

I also hope Wrexham survive regulation for the sake of Josh Johnson. Because he is better off playing in T&T than conference-league football....8)

Well, as you can see our socawarriors are located in these highlighted teams of the 2nd tier (immediately below the Premier League of the English leagues.) This league is becoming extremely competitive as they desperately fight for promotion to the big bonanza promised land of the Premiership. The season is still early with only 5 games played but yuh could see what Dwight is up against as Keano needs as much ammunition as possible to be one of the few etc for promotion while fighting up with the ambitions of Norwich, Palace, Coventry, Leeds, Southampton, Birmingham City and Leicester City.

Real pressure.

Birmingham & Sunderland promoted
BBC Sports

Birmingham and Sunderland will play in the Premiership next term after Derby's defeat by Crystal Palace sealed the pair's promotion from the Championship.
The Rams started the day four points adrift of Sunderland and five behind leaders Birmingham and were unable to close the gap, with one match to play.
That means they must be content with a place in the play-offs.
Birmingham go to Preston and Sunderland visit Luton on the final day of the season as they battle for the title.
And Birmingham chairman David Gold says the club's promotion justifies the faith the board showed in manager Steve Bruce, even when fans were calling for him to be sacked in mid-October when Blues were 11 points adrift of then leaders Cardiff.
"A few months back people were looking to see Steve Bruce go from the club," said Gold.
The board has got to stump up that money and has got to invest that money in the club's future
Birmingham managing director Karren Brady
"They were saying to us 'you should do certain things' but forgive me if I now say we have been vindicated for refusing to panic and in keeping faith in Steve.
"It is rare for clubs to go straight back up and it is a great performance to achieve that.
"There have been some dark days but Steve has been outstanding. He was determined to bounce back. He has rebuilt the team and now we are all back where we want to be."
And Blues managing director Karren Brady confirmed there will be funds to strengthen the team during the summer.
"Of course there will be funds," she stated.
"There is a lot of money coming into football next year from the broadcasting deal and we have all learnt that the Premiership is the only place to be.
"We have learned from our mistakes, we understand what needs to be done and that is going to take an enormous amount of investment.
"The board has got to stump up that money and has got to invest that money in the club's future."

It really has been an remarkable turnaround since Roy took over and brought on our trio. A good and well deserved change of fortunes for all involved.

I'm waiting for the statisticians to see how many other footballers have left the premiership, gone abroad to play for a season, come back with a struggling championship team and guided them back to the premiership....i don't think they're going to be that many, if any who can boast of such an accomplishment.

I for one looking forward to going more often to the Stadium of Light!
