Sunderland 4-0 Southend
www.bbc.com

Sunderland moved into the Championship play-off places after a dominant win against relegation-threatened Southend.
Both sides came into the match in fine form but it was the hosts who took control, with David Connolly converting Carlos Edwards' cross on four minutes.

Swedish midfielder Tobias Hysen cut in from the left and doubled the Black Cats' lead nine minutes later.

Stern John then tapped home one and headed another after the break, as the Shrimpers were torn apart.
