Mexico was up 1-0 late in the second half.

If this is the St. Kitts Nevis team that beat our U-20s then I cyah say nuttin.  Talk about a solid team?

The future looks bright for St. Kitts Nevis if these youths stay together.

JY,
What impress me more was the fact that they fought right thru!   Not so much the skill level ...but the heart..

Dos Santos ..is reaaalllll worries!   ...but they contain him .. was never going to stop him completely....

T&T still supposed to beat that Kitts side.... when they mention that Kitts beat we to qualify ..that hurt..makes you wonder what is really going on with Trinidad football!...

St Kitts had good resilience in the back...and a few clever attacking players....they lacked the stabilizing players in the middle of the field to keep the necessary shape of the team.....so they were often caught off balanced after they fought to win the ball.....

Mexico's two goals were great finishes....hands down....so I would say SKN was beaten but by no means disgraced.

Wish them luck....

Sorry but I disagree yes they played good at the back because they had 8 players behind the ball nothing wrong with that but your counter have to good and there was horrible they depend one player to make run and hope to get some however the other midfield players did not support well also Mexico missed a lot of chances.

I am not sure you watched the whole match. Mexico is a giant in international football, specially at youth level. In addition to that, Mexico was at home! It's quite normal that St. Kitts played defensive. However, they did not just pack all their players in the back, they did manage to create some opportunities. I agree with the poster who said that if the players remain together, the future will look bright for St. Kitts and Nevis.

St. Kitts did fine last night. They just lost to a stronger team.

Here are some highlights from the game.

Giovanni Dos Santos will torment Concacaf defenders for
the next 10 years.

RE: first goal

Watch the action of the Kittian keeper as Dos Santos was pushing the ball left/parallel to the goal at the edge of the area. The attacker's intention was clear and although the second defender did well to recover he and the other defender backed off of Dos Santos precisely at the moment the keeper was most vulnerable. From the clip the kpr never seemed to get set for the shot.

The ball bounced FOUR times before Dos Santos controlled it. It may have been better to have played for the foul on the weak side rather than trying to win the ball, especially given the range at that time.

think that was the 2nd goal....The first one was unstoppable (they showed them back to front...kinda)

Funny how both goals came of long balls/direct play....quite un-mexican.

St. Kitts up 2-1 against Costa Rica.

2-2 half time. Two things are killing the Kittitians: They are slow and naive and Costa Rica is one team you should never give too much space. Other than that, they are doing well. Eventhough my heart is still with Jamaica, I would love to see St Kitts make history.

(Pst: This St Kitts U-20 will take the Kittitians where they had never been before in CFU :))

Looking at their second goal it's no mystery.  We have players on our SENIOR team that are not finishing as clinically as these youths.  Men still kickin ball over the bar from just outside the six and in some cases even inside the damned six......and shakin dey head and watchin' dey boots after.  Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals.

True, true...BUT....The fundamental error was one of poor concentration by the defence. It was a big mental mistake that started at the half-line. That long pass should NEVER have been available. The defence was playing so high, that the man marking Dos Santos, should have been aware that so far up the field, Dos santos should have been offside or pushed over halfline. He KEPT him onside and available for the pass while ballwatching. Monumental mistake. Professional goal still, direct and efficient, as one man say, very un-mexico like...

Wow! what was wrong with the irish commentator last night? That guy probably forgot that Goltv's audience also includes Jamaicans and other caribbean nationals. He was just too biased. He had the same attitude against St. Kitts.

I don't think he was as biased against St. Kitts as he was surprised at their good performance, for which he did give them their credit.  St Kitts looked pretty good in the first half but the second half saw their game go incredibly flat and it was clear that Costa Rica were going to hold on to win that game.  He wasn't being biased against jamaica, either, he gave them their deserved credit for their positive and (expected) negative play on the field.  He didn't say anything that wasn't true.
