Kelon Williams scored a 66th minute winner as Police defeated Crab Connection 1-0 in their top-of-the-table contest in the TSTT Super League. Victory at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella yesterday kept the lawmen ahead in the ten-team table after Match Day Eight. WASA FC jumped to second place after a come-from-behind 3-1 victory over the sliding Club TSTT at the WASA Ground, St Joseph.
Alistair Pascall put TSTT ahead in the 28th before Alvris Faure equalised in the 66th. Jesse Reyes netted WASA’s second item in the 74th while Keston Thomas completed the win in the 79th.
PLIPDECO Caroni FC climbed to third spot with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over M&M Harvard at Gilbert Park, Couva. Brent Antoine (fifth and 87th) and Guieo Gonzalez Rodriguez (66th and 82nd) scored twice for Caroni while Guran Felicien (47th), Shaton Ollivierre (50th) and Sayid Freitas (78th) were the goal-getters for Harvard.
The day’s biggest winners were Defence Force FC, who trounced Robby’s Engineering Couva Players United 6-0 at the Couva Junior Secondary Ground. Gary John (58th and 75th) and Sherman “Ants” Phillip (78th and 88th) scored two goals apiece for the Army/Coast Guard combination while an own goal from Lyndon Bruno (third) and Sterling O’Brien (26th) got one each.
