bob fitzsimmons was wayne rooney's great great grandfather. fitzsimmons was world champion in both light-heavyweight and heavyweight weight classes around the turn of the century. just to give an idea of his skills, fitzsimmons was ranked #8 on Ring magazine's list of the best punchers in the sport of boxing all-time. foreman is #9. tyson is #16.

Wow I had no idea.

Fitzsimmons was also Middleweight Champ.

Skipped Lt. Hvw and won the Hvywght Championship..

Then went down in weight and won the Lt. Hvy.

Popularised the "Solar Plexus" punch.

Peace,
