PLAYERS KNOW WHAT THEY HAVE TO DOhttp://www.stjohnstonefc.co.uk/newsitem.asp?NewsID=207827 APRIL 2007
So it all comes down to the final day of the season and Saints players know what they have to do. Only a win in front of 3,100 travelling Saints fans at New Douglas Park will suffice and if that can be achieved then the result in Dingwall will be all-important.
Owen Coyle played it low-key this afternoon saying, “The destiny of the title is very much in Gretna’s hands. They have led the league for a long time and if they win tomorrow then they deserve it. All we can do is win our game and see what happens.”
The Manager revealed that Kevin James did a light training session at the stadium this morning and may come into contention for tomorrow’s match. Other than that the squad is along familiar lines with Allan McManus sitting out the last game of his three game ban. Goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert should be in his usual place despite feeling the effects of a groin strain.
The Manager finished by saying “It has been a good season for the club whatever the outcome tomorrow and I just hope that the players get the reward they deserve for their efforts. We have never made extravagant claims about what we can achieve this season and we just wait and see what tomorrow’s games bring.”
