his reason for resigning before the end of the season with 3 games to go is a bit suspect though

"It was mutually decided that I step down now rather than at the end of the season, to give my successor the ideal opportunity to experience the preparation and build up of matchday in readiness of next season."

Hopefully We'll see Sam on the sidelines next season.
I'll miss his ear piece (no bluetooth for Sam), his gum chewing, his general demeanour that suggests that he uses a pick-axe handle in the dressing room to explain the nuances of the game.
