Independiente Santa Fe win while wearing counterfeit kits

Independiente Santa Fe win while wearing counterfeit kits
BBC Sports

Colombian team Independiente Santa Fe played a top-flight match wearing counterfeit versions of their club kit after forgetting their away strip.

With hosts Boyaca Chico refusing to change their kit to resolve a colour clash, Bogota side Santa Fe played the first half in grey training tops with the squad numbers in tape at the back of the shirt.

However the players sweated the numbers off so they played the second half in unofficial £4 shirts after a staff member bought them from street vendors, adding names and numbers with a red marker pen.

Santa Fe won 2-0 and spokesman Pablo Garcia said: "We're happy. Chico wouldn't help resolve the problem and tried to gain an advantage in the situation."

The match between TT and Santos was kind of similar. Santos forget their uniforms in their plane. I heard Sport and Games loan them some white uniforms(not sure).

One of my best football memories was travelling to Millwall (our hate team) and seeing Gillingham beat them 3-0 wearing Millwall kits!!! The Gills kit man forgot the away strips and both teams wore blue at home. Millwall lent us their third strip (a hideous green monstrosity, no doubt meant to unsettle us)

Happens everywhere from time to time!

How the kit man could forget the away uniform??? He's the kit man, he have only one responsibility on game day and it is the first word in his job title. :banginghead:

You'll find that most clubs, somewhere in their history, have had to borrow kits. I guess even kit men can make mistakes!!

As an aside....we had a match in Manhattan some years ago starting at 10pm.  Kitman had to come from about 1 hr away.  He reach de venue at 10.15 and de kit wasn't washed from the last match  :frustrated:

There was a stall at the entrance to the stadium. Red and White jerseys. I think they were $300.
But you can probably call into TTFA office at the stadium to buy one.
