World Cup U-17 news: Haiti & Peru battle to 2 draws
« on: May 23, 2007, 12:01:12 AM »
A friendly series between the U-17 squads from Peru & Haiti took place last weekend in St-Marc and Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Both squads using this series as preparation for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea Republic. The series was to be better preparation for Peru since they will face Costa Rica in group A, while Haiti has no South American opposition in Group D.

The Jotitas had came off a commanding 3-1 victory over Honduras(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZTnVGntgzU). The first match which was played last friday in St-Marc ended in a 1-1 draw. The second was to be played in the nation's capital at Stade Sylvio Cator.

Home crowd

The young South Americans jumped to an early 2-goal lead but it would not go so well in the second half as the hosts took advantage of their midfield and continued to cut through Peru's defense and almost came away with a victory if it had not have been for the superb saves from Peru's goalkeeper. The match finished 2-2.
