Glen help Jabloteh beat Tobago.
T&T Guardian Reports.

Soca Warriors striker Cornell Glen marked his returned from injury and professional football with the opening goal in CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh’s 3-2 win over host Tobago United in the T&T Pro League at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, yesterday.
Glen who re-joined Jabloteh after being released by US Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy earlier this year opened the scoring in the 20th minute, but five minutes before the half, Kayode Legall levelled the match for the host.
Ten minutes into the second-half, national midfielder Trent Noel restored Jabloteh’s lead while defender Carlon Murray made it 3-1 two minutes later.
Tobago kept up battling and managed to reduce the deficit to 3-2 in the 69th minute thanks to Kerron Phillips.
However, Jabloteh held onto the lead and with the win pushed its point tally to 20 points from nine matches, one ahead of defending champions bmobile Joe Public and Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA.
At the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, the “Eastern Lions” inspired by a double from national midfielder Kerry Baptiste whipped Superstar Rangers 3-1.
Baptiste got his goals in the 30th and 82nd minute while Nigel “Croc” Pierre added a third on the stroke of full-time. Devon Modeste had given Rangers some hope of a revival with a 77th minute strike.
In the day’s other early match, Defence Force got goals from Devon Jorsling and Richard “Shaka” Roy in a 2-0 shut-out over United Petrotrin.
Jorsling netted as early as the fourth minute while Roy got the other 13 minutes from the end.
In yesterday’s late match, Caledonia AIA came up against VIBE CT 105 W Connection at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
Joe Public win 3-1.
By: Ian Prescott (Express).

Joe Public and Superstar Rangers played an open, enjoyable game on the artificial turf at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya, but one best remembered for missed opportunities by both teams.
Yesterday's match among two of the top five teams in the T&T Pro League was eventually decided by two decisive strikes from Kerry Baptiste, on either side of a Devon Modeste equaliser for Rangers. Finally, veteran striker Nigel Pierre totally killed off Rangers with a third Joe Public goal in the dying stages. As decisive as 3-1 sounds, with better finishing, the match could have gone to either team.
Not surprisingly, the game was an open one. There was no Arnold Dwarika and Gary Glasgow who only came on in the second half, but Joe Public had plenty of attacking power in Baptise, back from representing Trinidad and Tobago at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, midfielder Lyndon " Chubby" Andrews, and veteran striker Nigel "Pistol" Pierre.
Rangers, too, had plenty ammunition, dropping Errol McFarlane Jr, the league's top-scorer, to central midfield to compensate for the loss of injured Kerwin Jemmott, who was in the stands. That allowed Josimar Belgrave to start up front with Joseph "Ghouti' Peters, while Marc Borde was alsongside McFarlane.
Early on, Joe Public threatened several times, mainly through Kwamie Wiltshire, who took some time to settle before playing a good game. Wiltshire had at least three chances of getting a goal, but, despite good approach work, stuttered in front of goal. His waste did not go unnoticed by teammates, one shouting: "Brother, yuh getting chances," obviously expecting the young T&T international to do better.
Rangers also had many decisive moments in front of goal and also had two chances desperately cleared off the line by Joe Public defenders. Both times, Corneal Thomas and Shawn Cooper should have scored, but panicked.
Finally, Baptise put Joe Public ahead in the 31st minute, taking a diagonal pass from Wiltshire and burying an angled shot across keeper Shane Matthis and into the far side of the goal.
After trailing at the half, Rangers levelled in the 59th through Modeste, the midfielder squeezing a shot under keeper Figueroa from close in.
Both teams came close afterwards, until Baptiste's running chip over keeper Matthis restored Joe Public's advantage in the 81st minute. Even then, most would have bet on McFarlane burying the rebound after Belgrave's "hot" shot forced the goalkeeper to fend off the ball straight at McFarlane, who drilled his shot wide.
Rangers rued that miss when Glasgow, initially in an offide position, passed to Pierre who buried a low shot past Matthis in the 89th minute to give Joe Public a 3-1 lead and kill off Rangers.

Joe Public: — Alejandro Figueroa, Carey Harris, Devon Caseman, Lyndon Diaz (Gary Glasgow), Sean Cooper, Jason Springer, Dale Saunders (capt), Lyndon Andrews, Kerry Baptiste, Kwamie Wiltshire, Nigel Pierre.

Superstar Rangers: — Shane Mattis, Nigel Henry, Kerwin Cooper, Coneal Thomas, Devon Modeste (Ricardo Aleong), Josimar Belgrave, Marc Borde, Todd Ryan, Milton Correa Gomez, Joseph Peters, Errol Mc Farlane (capt).
Jorsling leads Army to victory over sliding Oilmen.
By: Randy Bando (ttproleague).

Striker Devon Jorsling registered one and set up another as Defence Force handed struggling United Petrotrin a 2-0 defeat in their final match of Round One of the Pro League.
Jorsling humiliated the ‘Oilmen’ in front of their home fans at the Pale Seco Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon when he netted just four minutes into the match, which ended in their third consecutive loss after the month long break.
Jorsling easily tapped the ball low into the back of the net after beating goal keeper and Petrotrin captain Perry Martin from inside the area after he lashed on to Akil Edwards pass from a counterattacking run down the left side for the early 1-0 advantage.
The Brian Williams coached team did not allow their heads to drop, against the run of play Petrotrin was close to equalizing when Peter Prosper playing his second match of the season for the ‘Oilmen’ this season flashed an attempt across the face of goal and at the far post was a sliding Andre Alexis who failed to connect.
The home team had another go at goal in the 35th through Sylvester Teesdale who tested goalkeeper Kevin Graham from inside the area and one minute later Prosper flopped disappointingly.
The powerfully built forward had the best opportunity of the match—one on one with the goalie only to poke the ball on the wrong side of the upright.
Defence Force retired to the dressing rooms clinging on to their 1-0 advantage, as the home team remained hopeful.
Soon after the break the southerners sprung to life when Andre Alexis threatened the ‘Army’ goal but his effort flew wide.
T&T national duo of Keon Daniel and Romauld Aguillera in the middle of the park was not in regular form, as they created very little for the men up front.
While coach Kerry Jamerson was all smiles as his men in the middle Christopher Durity, Akil Edwards and Corey Rivers were making sure they maintained their lead.
However in the 61st minute goal keeper Graham had to come up big twice in a row to deny a blast from Sylvester Teesdale and then the rebound attempt by Andre Alexis. The Defence Force goalie was up to the task proving his worth in goal.
Coach Brian Williams then summoned Jerrol Forbes and Abiola Clarence as he looked for the equalizer and strength in his offence but things never changed.
Substitute Forbes tested goalkeeper Graham from distance in the 70th but the ‘Army’ goalie maintained his clean sheet with an easy save.
‘Army’ then erupted the ‘Oilmen’s’ pressure lines when they registered a second.
Jorsling was again heavily influential when he set up second half substitute Richard Roy who made no mistake slamming the ball past a stranded goalkeeper Perry Martin in the 77th for a 2-0 cushion.
In the dying moments of the match Petrotrin’s Abiola Clarence netted one for the home team but the referee’s assistant was quick to disallow for a handball by the dreadlocked substitute.
‘Army’ on route for their third goal with just a couple minutes to go were rejected by goal keeper Martin who wasn’t about to let in another when he punched out an effort by goal scorer Richard Roy and was up again making sure the rebound effort by substitute Anton Joseph stayed well wide.
‘Army’ finished completed their 2-0 victory and re-starting strong after the month long break, but its certainly worrying times for the oilmen as they try to assess what has gone wrong.
Meanwhile, two goals in ten minutes by Guyanese forward Randolph Jerome led North East Stars to a fighting 3-2 win over fellow strugglers Police F.C at the Sangre Grande Recreation ground on Sunday. Noel Williams (30) and Jamal Clarence (68) both scored for Police while Veteran Kendall Velox would score what would be the game winner in the 75th minute to give his team a 3-2 advantage.

Defence Force: — Kevin Graham, Anton Pierre (capt), Keston Williams, Michael Edwards, Corey Rivers, Akil Edwards, Christopher Durity (Anton Joseph 84th), Devon Jorsling, Kevon Carter, David Alleyne, Sean Narcis (Richard Roy 70th).

United Petrotrin: – Perry Martin (capt), Devon Drayton, Husani Thomas, Romauld Aguillera, Kelvin Hernandez (Jerrol Forbes 65th), Keon Daniel, Marlon Lewis, Sylvester Teesdale, Andre Alexis (Abiola Clarence 65th), Peter Prosper, Kevon Rouse.

Rangers really need help in defence. How on earth can you break even in the 77 minute and then end up loosing the game 3-1 (2 goals in 8 minutes). That is poor defending, lapse of concentration and could also be a lack of experience. Not saying it is unusual to happen in football but just it does not reflex good on the team's overall level of concentration and desire to get results.

Jabloteh wearing dey green jersey with black numbers, so it was very difficult to discern. I thought it was Noel. I didn't do a match report because ah was caught up in a set ah ole talk.

Tobago United: - Andrew Durrant, George Dublin, Warren Phillips (C), Kevin Adams(Palmer 87), Jamal Jack, , Kerron Phillips , Garvin McKenna , Tichard Joseph,Jemmiel Smith(Che Burris 75), Kayode Legall, Woodley (Keon Samuel 75)

Subs Not Used: - James Baird, Joel Alleyne.

Goals: -Noel 20 (Hyland), Noel 60 (pen), Murray 62 (from a right side corner kick ;D).

Now it even more confusing. De Pro League Match Report states:
"However, it was the more experienced Jabloteh Team that took the lead in the 20th minute when World Cup striker Cornell Glen back in Jabloteh colours took advantage of a defensive lapse by the Tobago United back four and scored from an inside right position against a run of play."

But check de team list dat dey give:
CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh
Durance Williams (GK), Dwayne Jack (Capt), Karlon Murray, Lester Peltier, Trent Noel, Khaleem Hyland, Attaula Guerra, Ian Gray, Peter Byers, Jason Cudjoe, Cyd Gray.

Substitutes- Devon Jameson for Ian in the 73rd minute, Cornel Glen for Peter Byers in the 76th minute, Aurtis Whitley for Attaula Guerra in the 78th minute

So Glen came on in de 76th minute, but scored in de 20th minute ???
Worse yet, you say he was an unused substitute. So which one is it? Did he actually play, did he score?
