Brilliant sweeping move by Liverpool... Benayoun to Kuyt, back to Benayoun... to Torres... back of the net.

1-0 Liverpool in the 65'

For the kind of skills Berbatov has, you'd think he'd be doing better at United.

That fella should have stayed with Hotspur.

Liverpool starting to concede too much posession in midfield now... Ngog for Kuyt.

------------------

Torres it is... Ngog have huge shoes to fill, on sheer effort... for the remaining 10 mins.

I said it at the beginning of the season...Berbatov is garbage!!! Anderson should have started in front of Scholes

Congrats Liverpool fans!!! :beermug: The better team won.

Manchester old men and lack of creativity was exposed by a Liverpool team on a mission the 2nd half. Nice to watch as a neutral fan.

Stamford Bridge extends a hearty congratulations to liverpool on today's well deserved victory.  Rooney declared, before the season, that he has all the goals in him that swan dive-boy took to Madrid with him......well...it still have 28 games left...my bad.

just wanted to bring up from the extra time debate that started with the Man Utd v Man City derby...

In that game, men were arguing that the additional 2 mins came from the substitutions, the cards and the goal in injury time..

I said at that point that if this were true, a ref should never be able to blow off the game when immediately after kick off when a goal scores deep into injury time.

Men said they never saw that happen, well look it just happened today.

The difference was all in the back... man was calling for Agger to replace Carra, but instead was Skrtel who started on the bench and Johnson, Carra, Agger and Insua were impenetrable at the back.  Not saying that Skrtel is the problem, don't think he is... I think Carra was more assertive, confident and determined today.

Had Rooney handcuffed all game... same for Insua on Valencia.  Johnson and Agger were able to frustrate the central mids of Giggs and Scholes.  That was the key.  Add to that inspired play by Mascherano and Lucas, then Kuyt, Benayoun and Torres... it really hard to find a Liverpool player who put a foot wrong all game... the odd foul here and there notwithstanding.  Mascherano should not have been booked, let alone sent off.

Kudos to Ngog for making the most of his 10 mins... especially in light of the poor turn out in the week.

Good synopsis...Carragher was playing today like he knows what this rivalry is all about.  He is definitely beaten for pace though, but that's a totally different topic.  What makes Rafa afraid to put him on the bench is that he is the epitomy of Liverpool.  What can I say about Torres?  You isolate the man 1v1 and he is potent.
