This is a HUGE result for United.

Firstly this is a team that Liverpool play twice in th elast two weeks and couldn't beat them. The 5 point difference now puts extra pressure on Liverppol and CHelsea tomorrow. Whichever side does not win will feel like the title is over.

It is also a good comeuppance for Wenger who was complaining some weeks ago about UNited having a 6 day brealk between the WBA game and the Everton game , which was supposed to be on Monday. Well Wenger get his wish. United play on Saturday and win.

Arsenal play and couldn't even beat West Ham. 10 points off, played a game more, needing 54 teams to collapse...Arsenal's title hopes are over. If they didn't know, now they know.

real men on this site eye in they kakahole.
You all accustomed to get these kind of dubious calls so you think it's the norm.

Only after dude could not get the ball he hit the ground and Loopy dog ref run over and bail him out with the call.

Look one of your players just pull back Pinear with 2 hands and because he shot the ball the ref eh give a free kick, but you got a PK.
Go on with yuh mess.
how could u question de professionalism of these refs?

Yes, especially when Lescott get pull down on the set play (hand all over the shoulder pulling to the ground) and no call to give that call shows inconsistent whistling, thus leading to doubts about professionalism.

A win is a win, but the could not break down Everton in defense, I wonder how they will deal with the Italians.

Who cares.

I just realize that both Arsenal and Chellsea draw with Everton as well in recent weeks.

So I guess I should ask how Chelsea going to deal with the Italians

Manchester United's Danny Welbeck Handed England Call-Up
The man who is eligible to play for three nations seems to be wanted by the Three Lions...
Manchester United hot prospect Danny Welbeck has been handed his first call-up to England colours today, as Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce has named him in his squad for the forthcoming fixture with Ecuador.

Welbeck, who also qualifies for Ghana and Scotland through his parents, has previously played for England Under-19s. Only a cap awarded in a senior fixture would tie his international future to the Three Lions, but his inclusion in Pearce's squad would seem to edge him closer to committing that future to a white shirt.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, himself a proud Scotsman, would reportedly prefer the colour of that shirt to be dark blue, but looks set to be disappointed, as do those Ghanaians who were hopeful of Welbeck declaring for their nation.

"As we saw from the last Championship, there are players who come with a late run to get into the squad," Pearce is reported by The Manchester Evening News as saying.

"In this squad, we are having a look at Danny Welbeck who has done well in the U19s and broken into the team at Old Trafford which is no mean feat."

Welbeck has impressed many observers this season with his confident and mature performances for the Red Devils, and is another sign that the Old Trafford player production line is in full working order.

Carlos Tevez Offered New Manchester United Deal - Report
Despite earlier reports emanating from Italy that suggested a Serie A giant was waiting to pounce, it looks as though the Argentinean will remain a Red Devil...
Manchester United are set to secure the future of their Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez, reports in England indicate today.

Earlier, there had been suggestions from Italy that Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan was waiting to snare the player. However, after a meeting between United manager Alex Ferguson and Tevez's representative, Kia Joorabchian, following the weekend's victory over Everton, it now looks likely that the Argentine international will be staying in England, according to The Daily Mirror.

Ferguson has seemingly been highly impressed with the way in which Tevez has responded so positively to being left out of the side earlier in the season, with the striker being recalled to the first-team after Wayne Rooney was injured last month.

Tevez had reportedly felt marginalised after the Red Devils signed Dimitar Berbatov in the summer but, rather than sulking about things, he has rolled his sleeves up and performed magnificently whenever called upon by Ferguson.

It is believed that the deal will be worth £30 million, but how that breaks down with the complicated issue of Tevez's 'third-party' registration is impossible to say at this stage.

The player himself, already reputed to be on £75,000 a week, will be offered a contract that will see him take home £11.7m during the three year duration of the deal. Perhaps a good job then that United also announced pre-tax profits of £59.6m this week.

IN MUNICH 23 DIED...IN UNITED YOU LIVE FOREVER!

R.I.P Busby Babes...We will never Forget

United's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded all our Munich dead,
Before their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their heart's blood dyed it's every fold.

Then raise United's banner high,
Beneath it's shade we'll live and die,
So keep the faith and never fear,
We'll keep the Red Flag flying here.

We'll never die, we'll never die,
We'll never die, we'll never die,
We'll keep the Red flag flying high,
'Cos Man United will never die

THE FLOWERS OF MANCHESTER !!!

One cold and bitter Thursday in Munich, Germany,
Eight great football stalwarts conceded victory,
Eight men will never play again who met destruction there,
The flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester

Matt Busby's boys were flying, returning from Belgrade,
This great United family, all masters of their trade,
The pilot of the aircraft, the skipper Captain Thain,
Three times they tried to take off and twice turned back again.

The third time down the runaway disaster followed close,
There was slush upon that runaway and the aircraft never rose,
It ploughed into the marshy ground, it broke, it overturned.
And eight of the team were killed as the blazing wreckage burned.

Roger Byrne and Tommy Taylor who were capped for England's side.
And Ireland's Billy Whelan and England's Geoff Bent died,
Mark Jones and Eddie Colman, and David Pegg also,
They all lost their lives as it ploughed on through the snow.

Big Duncan he went too, with an injury to his brain,
And Ireland's brave Jack Blanchflower will never play again,
The great Matt Busby lay there, the father of his team
Three long months passed by before he saw his team again.

The trainer, coach and secretary, and a member of the crew,
Also eight sporting journalists who with United flew,
and one of them Big Swifty, who we will ne'er forget,
the finest English 'keeper that ever graced the net.

Oh, England's finest football team its record truly great,
its proud successes mocked by a cruel turn of fate.
Eight men will never play again, who met destruction there,
the flowers of English football, the flowers of Manchester.

United player Tevez's car seized

Carlos Tevez was stopped by police on the M60 motorway

Manchester United soccer star Carlos Tevez has had his £140,000 Bentley seized because he does not have a full UK driving licence, police said.

The 25-year-old Argentina international was stopped by traffic officers on the M60 near Stretford, Greater Manchester. His car has been impounded.

Police said they pulled his car over, suspecting the tinting on its windows was too dark.

Tests at the roadside showed the tint was illegal, police said.

"Shortly after 0920 GMT on Friday officers pulled over a Bentley close to junction 7 of the M60," said a police spokesman.

"The officers were concerned certain windows were illegally tinted. They were tested and found to be too dark so a prohibition notice was issued to the driver.

"When asked to provide his documentation, it was discovered the driver did not have a full UK driving licence and was advised to arrange removal of the car.

"As he could not arrange this, the car was removed under Section 165 of Road Traffic Act 1988."
