Refs still fallin for his shit.I does wonder if refs don't study players who consistently win penalties and have a reputation for diving before they ref a match they are in.

Alex McLeish was magnanimous in defeat... but Ashley Young, what a disgrace to himself and to the game.

Manchester United agree a deal to sign Benfica's Nicolas Gaitan for £20m plus Fabio and Federico  Macheda
Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign the Benfica midfielder Nicolás Gaitán with both Fabio da Silva and Federico Macheda moving to the Portuguese club as part of the terms.

The details of the deal are likely to see Fabio going only on a season’s long loan while Macheda’s transfer could be a permanent one, with Manchester United then reducing some of the costs of acquiring the highly-rated Gaitán.

Although the figures involved are unlikely to be disclosed, and the deal will not be announced until the season is over, it appears United are valuing Gaitán at more than £20 million plus the players.

While it will be interesting to see where he fits into Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans United have been tracking the Argentina international for some time and are now understood to have made their move for a summer transfer. Gaitan, who can play as an attacking midfielder or left-sided winger, caught the eye in Benfica’s Champions League campaign this season when they faced both United and Chelsea.

The 24 year-old has a £38 million release clause in his contract and it had been thought that Benfica were attempting to hold out for the full amount to be paid. However, that was always going to be an unrealistic valuation for Gaitán, despite his undoubted talent which has also attracted the likes of Inter Milan and Paris St-Germain, and United have been in talks for several months to try to structure a deal.

Macheda, the 20-year-old Italian striker, is on loan to Queens Park Rangers but has failed to make an impression after a handful of appearances and has returned to United after suffering an ankle injury. It would now appear his days at Old Trafford are numbered with Macheda a makeweight in the deal while, more interestingly, Fabio also appears set to be included.

The inclusion of players would be an attraction for Benfica who have to pay Gaitan’s former club, Boca Juniors, 20 per cent of any transfer fee. United had hoped to agree a deal in January but will now conclude the transfer in June.

It had been thought that United might try to include Bebe as well as Macheda but the choice of Fabio has helped persuade Benfica to conclude negotiations. Gaitan is understood to be represented by the Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes who has close links with United having taken the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani to the club.
Ferguson has already said that Fabio will go out on loan next season. Although the Brazilian featured in United Champions League final defeat to Barcelona last season, he has failed to progress as expected.

A succession of niggling injuries have not helped and Fabio had made just 15 appearances in all competitions this season, with the right-back starting just two league matches.

Ferguson told United Review: “Fabio will go on loan next season to give him concentrated first-team experience. We have already talked to him and he understands the value of playing regularly at a higher level than we can give him at the moment.”

I doh find gary neville really told it like it is.  he still called ashley young's dramatic flop a "penalty" even though it is clear the ashley young is the one that initiated the contact with his right foot.  If neville woulda say that the diving and extra drama is WRONG and it is spoiling the game and that ashley young and Lampard and "stevie g-captain courageous" and all these marqee players need to stop with their nonsense, then I would say he was telling it like it is.

Alot of United fans dont want Gaitian .. I however wouldnt mind..He is 23, technically very good, can play attacking mid in a 3 man midfield , RW and LW.. so he offers variety and he could blossom on a bigger stage . I think he is coming in as Park's replacement so we can have 4 wingers and of those wingers 2 can play behind the main striker ..(Young and Gaitain)

Fabio going on loan and according to a respectable journo of the Times he said a few weeks ago that If we dont sign a Left Back he will eat his hat, saying he is hearing we are bringing in a LB..which we need to do to give Evra competition as he's been very poor over the last 2 seasons and not getting any younger. I want Baines badly, 26, English so a good understanding of the league and he offers great service and has goals and assists in abundance for a LB...Aly Cisssokho name in the speculation too..strong big guy with good technique

this is going to be an interesting summer.. names expected to leave are Berbatov, Park, Fabio on loan.. and possibly Anderson

I'm guessing we may buy a CM to add to Carrick, Clev, Scholes, Giggs and Fletcher when he returns .. we would need cover in there as Fletch is unknown , Clev injury prone and Scholes and Giggsy in their late 30's ... I'm hoping for Modric ..someone with technical ability but great energy about them and an attack minded side to their game..or Eriksen is a good choice too...maybe Sahin on loan from Real..they owe us a f**kin player

Then its up top..apparently we are going to be using a 4-2-3-1 next season with Wazza as the main man and Hernandez and Welbeck as lone striking options.. so the CAM will be the interesting bit.. he may decide Gaitian or Young or he may add someone classy like Hazard or Sneijder ...Gotze just signed a contract so doubt thats on.....I'm thinking he will go after Wesley.. will be cheaper this season and with Berba's 100 gran a week available it will be easier to negotiate

Interesting times ahead...and yea I play too much FIFA Career mode lol

I'm thinking Gaitan and the cover in the middle with javi garcia .... would love to see modric tho ....
Gaitan is very good and is a good left footed option with good delivery likes to take on players

Lol about the comment regarding Neville!

I want to see if Young will continue to take the tumble after hearing this!

UK Sun-

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have turned on Ashley Young, slamming his diving as a ‘disgrace’.

The Manchester United winger, 26, has faced a barrage of criticism for his blatant falls against both QPR and Aston Villa.

Even Old Trafford boss Alex Ferguson admitted that the England man ‘overdid’ his tumble against Villa on Sunday.

Club legend Bryan Robson believes his play-acting could cost United dear. And now fans have turned against the £16m former Villa star.

In a scathing editorial, influential fanzine Red Issue pilloried Young, slamming him for ‘his latest disgraceful dive’ and adds ‘diving is cheating’ and says his behaviour is a betrayal of the code of conduct instilled at Old Trafford by legendary boss Matt Busby.

The editorial quotes Busby’s saying: “If anything is to be gained from football, it is to be gained by winning or losing with dignity.”

For good measure, the magazine also describes former United star and Sky pundit Gary Neville’s attempts to justify diving and other forms of cheating as ‘depressing’.
