I suspect the level of intensity at practice for Man United is very low.

Despite the bruhaha from the commentary, Man United was just as not clinical in the final part of the field as Liverpool. Liverpool only score in the run of play after Vidic sent off (and was lucky as Sturridge tried to shoot that).

After the penalty, Rafael actually had a pretty good game.

He had alot of saving tackles and locked down the right side after the penalty.

I'm referring to later in the game where he escaped a card upon fouling Suarez. At that point, the risk of a red card was heightened. As between Vidic and Rafael, Vidic stays on the field (he couldn't sub both, right ... wouldn't make sense tactically) ... in the end Vidic gets dismissed. Utd were fortunate not to have ended with 9. Not to mention Rafael is woeful at delivering the crosses Moyes thrives on.

I think Moyes will go before the return leg versus Olympiakos. What's the benefit of keeping him?

I have been as firm an advocate of being fair to Moyes... but I don't think he realize is Man U. he coaching.  Here is Rodgers' take on Moyes' statement that Liverpool were the favorites in today's match:

Quote
“I would never say that at Liverpool -- even if I was bottom of the league.  Anfield is Anfield.”

For the past 15 yrs they have  been winning! One friggin year they on the downside and you want to commit hari kari. Steups, GO AHEAD!!!! 68 to 92 they won nothing. Liverpool won 10. Things go in cycle. I will remind those suiciders Fergie had a very shakey start also.

Deeks, I'm not advocating for his dismissal. However, I hold the view that his dismissal is likely, if not imminent. I'm reading the tea leaves, not making the brew. All the supporting factors for my view are widely available. The most damning of these factors is insensitive to the club's tradition of winning and/or to the duration of his time on the job.

The next 4 matches are: Olympiakos, West Ham, City and Villa. With the first he has to overcome a deficit to sustain in CL competition. The significance of the other matches is also broadly understood.

Hari Kari? Isn't that kinda harsh ... under the present production, keeping him might be the hari kari. Iz not my $$$ spending but ah sure you've realized there's a measure of intolerance when it comes to deep pockets.

Van Gaal!!!!... I have not post in a while, for I was on the mountain asking the wise one questions about my beloved team's failures this season.. He said to get rid of that goat Moyes and bring in Van Gaal or Simeone.

Fergie and Charlton are to blame for this mess... their utter stubbornness to keep the club under British guidance and gamble on an average Manager who has never won any silverware to take over from the most successful winner of them all.

It makes no sense, it never did and never will.

It should have been Jose, the only man capable of coming into United and taking over from Fergie.

That shipped has sailed, Moyes will be gone either before summer or by Christmas this year depending on results. He will not turn this around. He has no clear vision for United fans to see progression and allow him time to build something successful such as Rodgers at Liverpool. You could have seen what he wanted to implement and they gave him time and resources to do as such.  Moyes has regressed the champions at a rate nobody could have seen or thought possible.

United have a chance to evolve and modernize their style of play and break away from the traditional British old school style.

Do everything to get Klopp

Banter hold on. I would have liked to see Jose or even Mancini, but the board made their choice. To be honest, I don't know Brendon Rodgers, and can't remember him winning anything either. You tell me. And he has been at Pool for about 3 yrs. So he has had his baptism of fire.

Yeah, but his coaching philospohy, man-management, and tactical flexibility is more of a continental approach, as that is where he learned his trade.  In Moyes, you have a tactically rigid, old-school, blue colar manager.  Hi training methods have been deemed archaic, and he seems fixated on getting in 100 cross per game into the box.  He's taking Man U backwards, when other teams are embracing the continental style and trying to play good, attractive football. Remember, Rodgers took charge of a team that finished 7th in the league; Moyes inherited a championship squad, so that is somewhat of a steep fall, season-to-season.
