 FAST-IMPROVING Defence Force aim for another big scalp today when they entertain Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA in the second game of a T&T Pro League double-header at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain from 6 p.m.

The Army-Coast Guard combination have pulled themselves all the way up to joint-fourth in the standings after a run of five wins in six matches, during which time they have defeated the likes of defending champions bmobile Joe Public (2-0).

Today's opponents led the league for much of the season and now are just a point behind leaders CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh.

The early game of the double-header sees North East Stars facing Superstar Rangers, two teams who are good on their day, but both are desperately in search of points

Rangers, Carenage in action

 LEAGUE leaders Superstar Rangers and defending champions Alcoa Carenage United, who are in second place, will be seeking wins when action in the Premier Division of the Northern Football Association (NFA) continues this afternoon at the Queen's Park Savannah, Port of Spain.

On the Paragon Ground, St Ann's-based Rangers,who are on top with ten points, will play fifth-place EPOSSA in a Group A encounter.

Unbeaten Rangers, who finished third last season, have won three from four outings, with the other game drawn.

Newcomers EPOSSA have five points from four matches, including two draws, a win and a defeat.

Across on New Ground, reigning champs Carenage United (eight points) will square off with bottom of the table Paragon FC, who have a single point from four games.

Carenage have two wins, two draws and a loss from five encounters in the new campaign.

Also today, old rivals Harvard FC (two points) and Malvern FC (five) will clash on Harvard Ground.

And on Tuesday, former NFA title-holders Fire Service, in sixth position with five points, and fourth-placed Queen's Park Cricket Club play on St Francois Nationals Ground to complete the Group A schedule.

First-timers Mau Pau will enjoy a bye.

In Group B matches tomorrow, Petit Valley United play Cocorite United on New Ground; Media Net Orie FC tackle QPEFA on Paragon Ground; and North Coast United battle Maple on Harvard Ground.

Madray scores seven in EFA football

SYLVESTER MADRAY netted a goal for each day of the week, seven, to lead St John’s United to an astonishing 12-0 mauling of Barataria Ball Players in the Western Conference of the Emerald Apartments and Plaza Eastern Football Association League on Thursday.

Rick Touroul added two goals of his own while Marlon Mathlin, Akiel Perrara and Wendell Bascon added one each for St John’s, now joint second of on the table with Malick Togetherness with 20 points each, and a game in hand.

M&M Real Maracas stayed one point ahead of the chasing duo with a comfortable 3-0 shut-out of Carib led by pair from Seon Clement and the other by Hayden Vincent.

Fourth placed teams Malta Carib Alcons and Valtrin United, both win 17 points were also in goal-scoring mood as the netted a combine 11 goals in their wins.

Alcons inspired by a Wackele Williams hat-trick outgunned San Juan United 6-2.

Richard Jones, Dwayne Gay and Keron Wilson fired in the other for Alcons while Michael Andrews got both San Juan replies.

Simba Aberdeen scored a double while Dwight Critchlow, N’Kosi Aberdeen, and Kanata Morris chipped in with one apiece for Valtrin in their 5-1 taming of Young Lions.
