Costa Rica ties Togo at 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup



 18.8.07 - Costa Rica opened the FIFA U-17 World Cup Korea Republic 2007 with a 1:1 tie against Togo in Group A action at the Suwon Sports Complex on Saturday.
Sapol Mani gave Togo (0-0-1, 1 Point) a 1:0 lead in the 39th minute, but Josue Martinez scored the equalizer for Costa Rica (0-0-1, 1 Point) with nine minutes remaining.

In the other Group A encounter on Saturday at the Suwon Sports Complex, Carlos Bazalar had the only goal of the match for Peru (1-0-0, 3 Points) in the 1:0 triumph over the hosts, Korea Republic (0-1-0, 0 Points).

The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2007 continues for the CONCACAF teams on Sunday as Honduras takes on Spain in Grupo A at the Ulsan Complex Stadium, while Haiti takes on Japan in Group D play at the Gwangyang Soccer Only Field.

In all, 24 teams are competing in six groups of four teams for the tournament, with the top two teams in each group, plus the four best third-place teams, advance to the knockout stage.

 6-0 for Brazil.

 Unbelievable.

   Nah, fishs.  Not unbelievable.  Not Brazil.  Not against a side like New Zealand.  :beermug: They off to a flying start, though, and I can only hope it doesn't allow any complacency to set in........Go BRAZIL!!!!! GOOD LUCK, WARRIORS!!

 

Ah hear what yuh saying but what was unbeleivable was the goal every 5 mins. The football them youths put down was exceptional even if it was against the Kiwis who incidently doh look that bad.

Brazil  6:1  People's Republic of Korea.  Brazil seem well on their way: two blowouts, nobody get a yellow card yet.......hope this don't turn out to be a repeat of "Malaysia '97"
