PARIS, France, August 3. AARON Peirsol showed that he means business in the 200 back this week as he wants to take back the world record in the 200 back after losing it to Ryan Lochte at the World Championships in Melbourne, Australia.

France's Alain Bernard paced qualifying with a time of 22.54, while Trinidad and Tobago's George Bovell finished right behind in 22.57. Sweden's Stefan Nystrand took third in 22.64, while Spain's Javier Noriega Sanz (22.69) and Canada's Brent Hayden (22.71) touched fourth and fifth, respectively.
Croatia's Duje Draganja (22.75), Germany's Steffen Deibler (22.80) and Croatia's Alexei Puninski (22.86) completed the top eight.
Meanwhile, the United States' Jason Lezak made semis with a time of 23.01 for 12th place.
