DERBY, England (Ticker) - Premier League newcomers Derby has been given a work permit for United States central midfielder Benny Feilhaber.
A British Home Office soccer review panel gave Feilhaber the all clear after he initially did not meet the qualifying criteria of playing in 75 percent of internationals in the last two years.

The 22-year-old, who was born in Rio de Janeiro but moved to the United States when he was six, will fly to England to complete his move from Bundesliga side SV Hamburg.
"We're bringing in another very good young player with excellent potential who is growing in stature with his national team," Derby manager Bill Davies said.
"He is ready for the challenge of the Premier League."
