I'll give some commentary...

Niall Quinn in the Sky Studio saying he's confident of staying up...the other analysts (Andy Gray, Jamie Redknapp etc) agree...

Redknapp says Spurs will be under pressure having spent SO much money on players...

Gordon WILL play...he's fit

Michael Chopra is on the bench....Bent is on the bench also ...Yorke and Carlos start....Oh Sh*t...Stern not even on the bench.....

Spurs start with Berbatov and Keane..

Team news:

Greg Halford failed a late fitness test so Dean Whitehead wasmoved to the right-bacl position.

Ross Wallace was preferred to Danny Collins at left-back and Nyron Nosworthy and Paul McShane were partnered in the middle of the back four.

Dwight Yorke was alongside Dickson Etuhu in the middle of the park and Carlos Edwards was fit to play.

Daryl Murphy and Anthony Stokes were chosen to lead Sunderland's attack.

There was a debut for Sunderland's £9m goalkeeper Craig Gordon, one of four playing his first League game for the Black Cats.

Matt dawson was missing for Spurs, he had an ankle injury.

Teams:

Sunderland: Gordon; Whitehead, Nosworthy, McShane, Wallace; Edwards, Yorke, Etuhu, Richardson; Murphy, Stokes. Subs: Ward, Miller, Chopra, Collins, Connolly.

Tottenham: Robinson; Chimbonda, Gardner, Kaboul, Stalteri; Malbranque, Jenas, Zokora, Tainio; Keane, Berbatov. Subs: Cerny, Defoe, Huddlestone, Bent, Rocha.

Players on the pitch...Carlos walked out looking serious and focussed.....Yorke walked out with a MASSIVE smile on his face...

Andy Gray says Richardson and Edwards would have to do the damage down the flanks for Sunderland to win this match...

Almost kick off time...!

7 mins gone, 0-0

Sky Sports moved the match clock from the top left corner of the screen to the bottom left corner.

Spurs fans: "Your support, your support, your support is f*cking sh*t. Your support is f*cking sh*t"...I disagree...

Spurs generally dominating so far...Malbranque was 1-on-1 with the keeper, but was offside....Richardson took the worst corner I've ever seen...the ball hit the corner flag on the other side...

Sunderland settling down a bit now...

Even battle in midfield, but Sunderland's defence looks a little suspect when Spurs move forward...

Stokes had a long range shot which went into row 50....

Murphy should have scored for Sunderland...Carlos got the rebound and tried to square it into the area, but no one got on the end of it..

Edwards just got a free kick just outside the area....Richardson sh*t it up...

Yorke definitely more involved now...

Sunderland look like the were dominating the same coming down to half time. Murphy had the best chance of the game so far.

Edwards really struggling with the pace of the game.

I don't see that at all,he's actually having a pretty decent game, what I would say is if the rest of those guys would pass the f**king ball to him on time,he'll be more effective...........
