U-15s ease past Bahamas 9-0.
By: Shaun Fuentes (TTFF).

Trinidad and Tobago's National Under 15 footballers, all making their debut, proved to be too much to handle for Bahamas as they completed a 9-0 rout of their opponents in the second game of a double header on the opening day of the Caribbean Football Union Youth Cup at the Hasely Crawford Stadium on Saturday.
T&T, coached by Reynold Carrington, were originally slated to face Aruba but had different opposition after the latter and Grenada had problems getting into the country and are scheduled to arrive tonight.
Captain Jerrel Britto, who had been a member of the training squad for the current National Under 17 team now in Korea, was the standout, netting four times while Shahdon Winchester (38th), Dinell Lopez (47th), Anslem Jackson (52nd), Akeems Grant (65th) and Shaquille Stewart (72nd) got the other goals.
Britto showed his experience over the rest and could have easily had gotten six goals to his credit. He put his side ahead 1-0 in the 11th minute with a low shot down the centre of the penalty area. T&T went further ahead in the 14th minute and then were three up on 28 minutes with Britton notching his hattrick. It was soon 4-0 after 31 minutes with Britto again being the target man.
Winchester got a fifth T&T goal when allowed to pick his spot and hit a long, curling shot into the top of the Bahamian net in the 38th minute. The game was finished as a contest, T&T taking several pot shots at the Bahamian custodian and coming up with some spectacular long-range goals from Jackson, Grant and Stewart in the second half. Carrington said he was pleased with the effort considering that the boys were playing for the first time for T&T. "Generally it was a good performance which I hope we can build on. It was good to see them scoring goals and not conceding. We took our chances and that was important. I hope the team itself can go on to better things from here," Carrington said.

Line-Ups.

T&T:
- 1-John Thomas (Goalkeeper), 2-Shaquille Stewart, 4-Richarde Wint, 5-Dinell Lopez, 6-Moriba Ballah, 7-Ryan Fredericks, 8-Shahdon Winchester, 9-Vernell Ramirez, 10-Jerrel Britto (capt), 11-Anslem Jackson, 12-Akeems Grant.

Subs: - 3-Nathaniel Burnett, 13-Luke Hernandez, 14-Zavion Navarro, 15-Jerome Diaz, 16-Reagan Gaulteau, 18-Keane McIvor, 21-Derron De Freitas.

Bahamas: - 1- Kevin Charlton (Goalkeeper), 2-Audley Carey, 6- Duane Beneby, 8-Kristoff Wood, 9-Lester Taylor, 10-NathanTaylor, 12-Quade Smith, 13-Cameron Lunn, 15-Shaquille Williams, 17-Terrell Sadiford, 18-Preston Rolle.

Subs: - 3-Ramon Sturrup, 5-Matthew Constantakis, 7-Kevin Sheehan, 14-Michael Butley, 16-Terrell Sandiford, 19-Stefan Nembhard, 22-Michael Belot.

Dominica score 23 in CFU U-15 action

Monday, August 20th 2007

Dominica hammered the British Virgin Islands 23-0 in yesterday's round of matches in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-15 Youth Cup competition.

At the Marvin Lee Stadium, captain Errol Blaize led by example, notching seven while Mc Chris Mourance netted five and Hakeem Hazel slotted home three.

Also in the goalfest, Dwight Green grabbed two while there was one goal apiece for Dillon Alexander, Sydney Jules, Nigel Sanderson, Mikey Edwards, Juniro Mason and Malcolm Joseph. The win was the largest by a team in the tournament so far after two days.

Also yesterday, there were wins for El Salvador, Antigua & Barbuda and the Netherland Antilles.

Today the competition takes a break.

I am usually a firm beliver in scoring at will, down to the very last second even in a blow out.  Something frowned upon here in the US.

Yeah, there is a separate squad in the tournament exclusively from Tobago:

If that part of the original schedule still holds they play Antigua on Thursday.

Uh boy! It took me a moment to realize that the 12:00 was the time, not the final score in favor Antigua! Phew! ;D

Thanks, E-man. A friend in Port-au-Prince just told me Haiti is not participating in the tournament.
