I can see our defending problems, but our country always produce players with the offensive skills to be creative which is a key asset in scoring goals.
Our senior men and our youths have played 7 hours and 30 mins of World Cup Soccer and got only 1 goal to show, can this be explained.
In some ways, your assessment of T&T's attacking ability is based on play against a much lower standard. WC competition is a different class. We have difficulty scoring against the Concacaf opposition that regularly qualifies for the WC (USA, Mexico, Costa Rica) so it is no surprise that we had a difficult time against regular WC qualifiers from Europe and S. America. Having said that, the WC 2006 team was 1) a little unlucky and 2) left the most gifted creative player on the bench. We were outpayed in our games, but we probably did enough to deserve a goal or two against Paraguay -----had a goal line clearance and a dubious offside call against England----- and hit the crossbar against Sweden. We need more experience at the highest level. That was our 1st ever WC at senior level..
Same for the youths. The under 17 side scored a nice goal in the opener. One more game to go. Nice lil side that just was not ready..We are behind the curve, but hopefully learning. You're asking the question of teams that are by no means used to playing at this level, so I for one, don't find the lack of goals too much of a surprise
