On current form, Villareal could take the whole thing while the top two keep playing the ar$e. The making up ground like a freight train. Tricky game at home to Atletico next, but Barca on the road against Betis and Real madrid at home against Sevilla. Next week looking like a next roller coaster round.

Come on Barca. This is the third chance Real Madrid give yuh. Doh throw it away this rounds. Lawd, I hadda pick up a next sport to watch...with less drama. Barca aging meh

Barça got a much needed boost to their confidence with a 4-1 win over Valladolid at Camp Nou this afternoon, but if truth be told they didn’t play much better than in the 2-2 draw at Almeria last week. With parts of the public intent on whistling the team at various points of the game it was a nervous performance from the team.

Frank Rijkaard made two changes to the team that lost at Valencia. Thierry Henry returned to the team at the expense of Gudjohnsen but gave another disappointing performance, and Sylvinho came in for Abidal and had a very good game at left back. Toure Yaya continued in midfield but once again showed that he is not fit enough to play at the level expected of him.

Training minus the internationals

Berta Brau / Anna Segura

The first team trained this Monday morning in a session that focussed on physical recovery for the players in the starting XI against Valladolid. It was not attended by Barça’s internationals.

Barça trained this morning after the victory against Valladolid (4-1). There were a lot of players missing as this week features a number of international fixtures. In addition the players from yesterday’s starting line-up had a lighter work-out basically designed to help them recover from their physical effort in the game.

10 players with their national teams

10 Barça players have been called up by their national sides to play friendly matches this week. They are Abidal, Thuram and Henry who will be turning out for France; Iniesta, Puyol and Xavi who will be with Spain; Bojan who is in the under-21 Spanish squad; and finally Zambrotta who will be with Italy, Milito with Argentina and Gudjohnsen with Iceland.

Large crowds at training
Lots of fans took advantage of the fact that Easter Monday is a public holiday to come along and watch today’s training session at La Masia.

The players won’t be back training again until Wednesday at 11 am as they have a day off tomorrow, Tuesday.

yuh sayin dat like yuh eh sure ! La liga is the most down to the wire league in football with the title often undecided until the last round.
remember Villareal made a strong run last season with the best finish in the league ...8 straight victories. They now have the best home record in the league and Gonzalo is back. I said it before, once gonzalo is in the team we wont leak goals and can scrape through because we score goals.
Gonzalo is the best centreback argentina can call on ..they just dont know it yet...if only he was not so injury prone. Anyway he is only 23 !

no problem ;)
Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.
