thanks palos.

sometimes id like to see the top ten defensive action...we always have to score in that game..i mean top ten attacking action is always on the frontline...boy i remember a usa vs trini game for the 2006 1st round qualifier and how fitzaptrick fixed pope in the midfield..that was just before angus eve scored..for those who remember..

Franco Baresi.

Paolo Maldini, is close. He is a long standing professional with alot of experience, but it terms of him best the "best" defender; Baresi was better.

He was quick. He coulda read the game extremely well. He was could play in any position in the backline. Maldini can play left back or in the middle; but he would be weak at a right back position. Baresi was an ALL ROUND stand out. Simply the best of all time.........

Baresi was GREAT.  However, he wasn't better than Gaetano Scirea.

I have never heard about him but here is an interesting fact I discovered while looking him up

Scirea is one of only five players in European football history -join to Antonio Cabrini, Sergio Brio, Stefano Tacconi and Danny Blind- to have won all national and international trophies for football clubs recognized by UEFA and FIFA

Més que un club.
