My grandmother took me to the Oval for his visit. I was tiny and the crowd was thick. I remember she told me I passed out in the heat and crowd. Later she had me on her shoulder as he passed to greet the crowd and she leaned forward and he brushed my hand. I remember very litle about this other than feeling ill.

I don't remember him at all. Don't have any real memories just some vague impressions that may be there only because Ma told the story many times. The only thing that is relatively clear is the memory of the sick feeling in that heat of bodies...

When I got older I recall whenever we'd pass along Tragarete Road she point out the gates to the oval where we entered. But that's about it...
